Brooklyn Kalmikov

Brooklyn Kalmikov (3.75 Star Amateur Rating, NHL Grade — FREE AGENT) Forward

High paced forward who is playing at over a point per game pace since his move to Victoriaville (19-20). Works the mid-wall or goal line on the power play and can open passing lanes with his puck poise or quick feet. Brooklyn has the ability to find the quiet areas in the high slot and his soft first touch allows him to be a scoring threat. Has a quick release and digs in the paint for rebounds. On the forecheck, he is a very effective F1, closing quickly and using an active stick to shut down passing lanes. He is not a banger, but will initiate contact to separate a man from the puck to create turnovers and uses his quickness to attack the net in a direct manor. Brooklyn is in his second year of draft eligibility. He is a late round possibility, but will more likely end up opening eyes at an NHL Development camp. He is a very interesting player to watch as Victoriaville heads down the stretch.
