In December, Neutral Zone was at the Marlies Holiday Classic, which is the fourth of five major Ontario Minor Midget tournaments during the 2017-18 season. Most of the top-ranked teams in the province played in the tournament, and approximately 60 Minor Midget teams attended the tournament from the Greater Toronto Hockey League, Ontario Minor Hockey Alliance, Ontario Minor Hockey Association - East and South, Northern Ontario Hockey League, Ottawa Region (HEO), New York State, and Michigan. The Toronto Jr. Canadiens won the tournament, led by top prospects Dylan Robinson, Michael Bianconi, Daniil Chayka, and Shawn Spearing.
