In an annual border battle of rivals north of Boston the high-powered offense of the Melrose Red Raiders took on the speedy Stoneham Spartans in early season MIAA action. The game was played in two 22 minute halves and you could tell in the first half that there was a feeling out period as the players got used to being back in competitive action. Once the 2nd half started though, the pace and quality picked up and this one turned into a fun tilt to watch with Melrose scoring with 33 seconds to go to tie it up . . .
