Owen Sound Signs Defenseman Taos Jordan

The Owen Sound Attack announced that they have signed Taos Jordan to a standard player agreement. Jordan was selected in the 12th round of the 2020 Priority Selection Draft.

Jordan finished his minor hockey playing for the Whitby Wildcats U16 of the OMHA’s Eastern Triple A Hockey League last season. During the 2019-20 season, Jhe scored nine goals and added 19 assists in 36 games. In the playoffs that season, he scored three goals and three assists in eight games.

We have several reports on Jordan, and last scouted him at the OMHA Championship in 2020.

“Jordan is a smooth-skating stay-at-home type of defender that can be relied on to initiate breakouts with crisp passes and follows them up nicely in order to aggressively hold the offensive blue line after zone entries,” scouts said. “He sees power play time and walks the blue line stealthily to set up his defense partner or release a heavy slap shot of his own. His edgework and hockey IQ allow him to be creative and delay breakouts by drawing forecheckers towards him and subsequently using lateral ice to find teammates skating into the puck with speed. Last week’s OMHA Championship Tournament gave Jordan the platform to put his skills on display and he did not disappoint. With some fine tuning offensively, he can provide depth to a club that gives him an opportunity at the next level.
