Two of the top players (and leading scorers for each team) were not in their team’s respective lineups on Sunday so you’d think this game would lack some offense and although there wasn’t a lot of finish, the team’s combines for 96 shots on goal!! Mickey Gross took a 37 save shutout into the 3rd period as the home Thrashers White could not solve the Southwest goalie. The Cougars had scored 4 goals in the first 2 periods and it would prove to be enough as they allowed 2 goals against in the 3rd period . . .
