On December 8th, the Rockets exploded out of the gates, scoring 2 goals on their first 4 shots and continuing to pepper for 40 minutes, taking a 3-1 lead with 33 shots on goal. After a late 2nd period goal with less than 30 seconds remaining by Kearney, the Islanders seemed to take all the momentum into the third and dominated the play, tying the game and forcing overtime. The overtime period did not last long as Ty Broad scored on the first possession only 23 seconds in to end the game, giving the Islanders a 4-3 . . .
