From the opening face-off, this was a tight game. Sun County started strong, scoring early in the first period. The teams traded goals in the second, sending Sun County into the intermission with a 2-1 lead. An early power play goal gave the Panthers a further advantage. Despite creating numerous chances, Lambton struggled to generate second-chance opportunities, as the home team controlled the rebounds effectively.
