This game was pure offense, with twelve power plays and eleven total goals being scored, both teams showed that they were able to put the puck in the back of the net. It was the Regiment that found a way down the stretch in the third period with a dagger, forty seconds after the Mooseheads were able to bring the score within one. Then another goal with less than a minute to play to seal the deal.

The hometown Kelowna Rockets overtime difficulties continued as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Portland Winterhawks, remaining winless in five overtime games. Sam Spehar got the winner in overtime, while Alex Weirermair, Ryan Miller and Will McLaughlin added singles for the Winterhawks. Tij Iginla with two and Ty Halaburda scored for the Rockets. Ondrej Stebetek was excellent in goal for the Winterhawks making 42 saves, 21 in the third period alone.
This is an exciting game given that it was a tied game with four minutes left to play. Red Deer went on the power play, and they capitalized with an impressive goal. Costly penalties down the stretch for the Cougars, from the middle of the second all the way to the game winning goal, was the difference tonight.
This game got off to a very slow start, with the majority of the first period containing little action and North Bay being limited to just one shot on goal. North Bay came out hard in the second period but back-to-back goals by Soo changed the momentum in the middle of the period. Soo added an empty netter at the very end to close out the win 3-0.
Everett controlled the pace and had more opportunities for the first two periods. More shots and chances throughout the game. In the third period it looked like Tri-City had more chances and energy, Everett had a healthy lead and may have taken their foot off the gas a little bit. Tri-City got a couple to make it a game before Everett closed it out with a late goal.
This was a low scoring game and quite the opposite from what the QMJHL provides. But finally, on the power play, the Huskies were able to find the only goal of the game. One of the more shocking parts about this game is that there were eleven power plays combined between both teams and only one goal to show for it.
Not the most exciting game as both teams weren’t really sharp. A lot of one and done chances and little sustained O Zone pressure except on specialty teams. Guelph looked flat all night and just couldn’t get it going in front of there home crowd.
The hometown Kelowna Rockets snapped a 2-2 tie with two goals in the third period for an important 4-2 victory over the Prince George Cougars. Owen Folstrom scored the eventual winner, off of a fortunate bounce off the backboards that went in off of goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen’s skate. Tomas Poletin, Parker Alcos and Keith McInnis into an empty net rounded out the scoring for the Rockets. Cooper Gizowski and Riley Ashe scored the Cougars goals.
Kamloops won this game by just dominating the beginning of each period. The Blazers nearly outshot the Rebels two to one, and the scoring chances are probably close to the same type of stats. Though they were not able to convert, the Blazers had six power plays, which is enough time to create some type of momentum throughout a game. An overall lack of discipline from the Rebels did not help their game.
Vojtech Cihar had a four point night with a goal and three assist to lead the hometown Kelowna Rockets to a 5-3 victory over the Red Deer Rebels. The Rebels scored two late goals in a game that was otherwise out of reach. Also scoring for the Rockets were Eli Barrett with his first WHL goal, along with Hiroki Gojsik, Hayden Paupanekis, and Tij Iginla. Replying for the Rebels were Patrick Sopiarz with two and Nate Yellowaga.
This game was over by the middle of the second period when the Cataractes scored six unanswered goals the start the night. The top players for the Cataractes were on as well the depth players, making for a full sixty minutes of an offensive slaughter that the Oceanic just could never contain.
Boston College controlled the game from start to finish, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and never letting Harvard back into it. The Eagles’ depth and pace overwhelmed the Crimson, who managed just a single goal in the second frame. With a steady 5-1 final, BC improved to 15-8-1 while Harvard fell to 12-9-1.
Boston University rallied with a strong second period to force overtime, erasing Northeastern’s early lead in a tight, defensive matchup, where goals were exchanged twice on each side. Neither team could break through in the third, and the game ultimately ended in a 2-2 draw after OT, yet Cole Hutson won the game for the Terriers in the shootout. BU moves to 12-13-2 on the season, while Northeastern sits at 12-12-1 after the hard-fought tie.
Jacob Kvasnicka scored his 25th goal of the season just five minutes into the game, a goal which proved to be the game winner, as the visiting Penticton Vees downed the Kelowna Rockets 5-0. Nolan Stevenson, Brady Birnie, Ethan Weber, and Brooks Demars rounded out the scoring for the Vees. Goaltender Ethan McCallum got the shut out making 26 saves.
This game was a lot closer than the score suggests, with minutes left to play, it was only a two goal deficit that the Thunderbirds were facing. The back and forth scoring ended when special teams in the third took over for the Rockets scoring short handed and power play goals.
It took a beautiful breakaway finish in overtime by Carson Carels to seal a hard fought 3-2 victory for the visiting Prince George Cougars over the Kelowna Rockets. This game was able to remain close on the scoreboard due to the outstanding goaltending by Harrison Boettiger in the Rockets net, stopping 21 first period shots and 46 overall in the game. The Rockets scored twice on the power-play on goals by Ty Halaburda and Tij Iginla, while the Cougars goals came from Terik Parascak and Riley Ashe.
The Oshawa Generals took control early with 16 shots in the first period and never looked back, cruising to a 4-1 win. Matthew Humphries (#32) made 30 saves, and Owen Griffin (#96) scored twice to lead the way.
The Tri-City Storm visited the Waterloo Black Hawks in a tightly contested matchup that was deadlocked heading into the third period. Tri-City found the extra gear late, scoring the game-winning goal in regulation before adding an empty-netter to seal a 5-3 victory. Tri-City’s Connor Brown (#15) led the way with one goal and one assist.
After Calgary opened the scoring, Medicine Hat responded with four goals of their own. The game remained fairly even over the full sixty minutes, but the Tigers dominated the second period, which ultimately proved to be the difference in the game.
