Kingston, MA – Neutral Zone was in attendance virtually to watch a rivalry game “Senior night” matchup between Duxbury and Hingham on Saturday afternoon at the Bog. As mentioned, both teams honored their senior players prior to the game in a brief ceremony. Hingham came out strong and held offensive zone pressure for much of the first period. They had several point blank chances that were turned away by senior goalie Mike Cicerone. They were finally able to break through after a slick regroup in the neutral zone and an odd-man attack. John Choueiri worked a give-and-go with Allu Linna and finished the return feed into the back of the net. The teams would head to the room with the visitors leading 1-0.
Duxbury came out stronger in the second period and drew an early penalty. On the ensuing power play, Wyatt Glass won the puck directly to Hutchison Rose who snapped the puck into the back of the net to knot the game at 1. Hingham would get the lead back a few minutes later when Bobby Falvey would thread a point shot through on the power play. It looked like we would head to the break at 2-1, however, with about 10 seconds to go, Aidan Brazel drove the puck wide, centered it and the rebound would deflect to a waiting Lars Osterberg who would finish.
The third period, would continue similar to the first two as Hingham kept the pressure on. The Harbormen would strike a few minutes into the period to push the lead to 4-1. Falvey again would fire a shot from the point that would be tipped by Evan Corbett into the back of the net. The lead would be stretched to 5-1 when Alex Barzowskas would bang in a centering feed and then 6-1 when Paul Forbes would connect on a breakaway.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again on Monday afternoon at Pilgrim in Hingham.

NZ Notes
This was a fast paced game that was generally controlled by Hingham. They were relentless on the forecheck and hemmed the Dragons into their zone for a majority of the game. Cicerone was solid all night long and made several key saves, many at point blank range to keep the home team competitive. Duxbury took a few too many penalties in which Hingham capitalized on.
For the home team, Hutchison Rose was a bright spot. The freshman forward scored a nice goal on the power play by finding a soft area in the slot and snapping a shot home. He plays hard and moves in straight lines well. He was all over the ice and took good angles pressuring the puck. He was Duxbury’s most consistent player and created several good scoring chances with his effort. Will Nolan is another forward that had a solid afternoon. On one occasion he used his speed to slash through the middle of the ice and create an odd-man rush. He used quick feet and a good burst to gain separation through the middle of the ice. Billy Mrowka had a good showing. He is strong on his feet and willing to battle for pucks. He gets to the greasy areas and looks for rebounds. He plays a responsible game and works hard in each zone.
For the Harbormen, Bobby Falvey leads from the back end. He contributed directly to a few goals on the afternoon. He is smooth with the puck and used in all situations. He sees the ice well and made some nice reads to stretch the ice to put pressure on the Dragon’s defense. He has a big shot from the point and does a good job changing angles to get the puck through to the net. Aidan Brazel was a threat all afternoon. He is a big body that is tough to slow down once he gets to speed. He drives wide and uses his reach and body to get around defenders. Effective off the cycle and down low in the corners. Heavy shot and gets the puck to the net whenever he can. Paul Forbes also had a big night. He is always around the puck and plays with pace. He keeps his feet moving and is able to use his hands to break down defenders in tight. Gets to the right areas in the offensive zone and has good timing to jump in-and-out of spots. Finally, two freshman were solid in Chase McKenna and Allu Linna. Both play big minutes for a deep Hingham team and contribute each time out. McKenna is smooth on the back end and doesn’t panic under pressure. He retrieves pucks well, identifies passing options and threads passes through seams. Linna is slick with the puck on his stick. He sees the ice well and is creative. He handles the puck well with speed and looks to make plays in transition. Both players will be ones to follow through the remainder of the year.
