William Hanson Tournament: Delbarton Blitzes Bishop Feehan 9-0 to Win Crown

Boston, MA – Delbarton (NJ) came to play in the Finals of the Coach William Hanson Tournament jumping out to a lead early on Bishop Feehan and never looking back. Four minutes into the game junior forward Jack Ross sent a puck across the crease, hitting a Bishop Feehan defender and ricocheting into the net. At the 7:02 mark, freshman defender Matthew Peng fired a shot through traffic and the seeing-eye shot went off the post and in to double the Delbarton lead. Bishop Feehan’s goalie Easton Theberge got hot and saved the next several rounds of shots before Delbarton was awarded a penalty shot which sophomore forward Egor Andreev buried to give Debarton a 3-0 advantage. With two minutes left in the period, senior forward (and Princeton commit) Max Pendy scored his first of three goals with a missile over Theberge’s glove to give Delbarton a 4-0 advantage at the break. Shots in the first period: Delbarton 23, Bishop Feehan 4.

The second period was a lot like the first as Delbarton dominated play and were in possession of the puck for the majority of the frame. Pendy scored another missile of a goal short side tight under the bar off a nice pass by junior forward Dante Rodriguez. Pendy added his third of the game after banging home a pad deflection off of Theberge to make it 6-0 Delbarton at the end of two periods. Shots after two: Delbarton 39, Bishop Feehan 7

In the third Bishop Feehan changed goalies as Logan Petrucci started the period. Sophomore forward Ayden Puppe got Delbarton’s scoring started with 11:40 left on a running clock on a pass from senior defender Michael Padula. Three minutes later Andreev made it 8-0 Delbarton and just one minute later Puppe scored to finish the scoring for Delbarton. Final shot Delbarton 48 Bishop Feehan 10
