USHL: Sioux City vs Sioux Falls, February 8, 2022: In a game that Sioux City dominated on the shot clock, Axel and the Musketeers found a way to prevail in a 4-3 overtime thriller. Mangbo has a big presence in the net and has your stereotypical Swedish demeanor. He has good athleticism for his size, but struggles with his body control on lateral plays. This was a contributing factor to Axel having to deal with numerous rebound shots. Axel has a tendency to chase plays and get himself outside of the posts which creates unnecessary movement in order to get back into his coverage zone. This situation was a result in one of the goals that he gave up in this game. As he continues to develop, this will need to be addressed, so he can not only make first saves, but put himself in a good spot to make rebound saves as well. This will also help him alleviate falling forward and ending up on his stomach on secondary chances. Grade: B-

USHL: Goalie Report, November 17, 2021: Playing in his only game of the weekend Axel had some unfortunate puck luck. This big, athletic Swedish goalie will continue to attract a lot of NHL attention with his poise and frame in the net. He always looked in control and had 3 of the 4 goals against on the weekend go in off of beautiful deflections. It will be interesting to see if Sioux City continues to rotate goalies or one grabs the net and runs with it. Grade: B-

USHL: Goalie Report, October 12, 2021: Mangbo was peppered with shots and despite the loss was able to stop 36 of 40 shots faced in the game. He is a good sized goalie who excelled at staying compact and controlling shots. He showed great compete throughout the game and handled scoring chances well. He did a good job throughout the game of forcing shooters to make perfect shots with his positioning and ability to stay solid and not open holes for shooters. Overall it was a solid game for Mangbo who competed well this weekend. Grade: B-
