QMJHL: Blainville-Boisbriand Armada vs Acadie-Bathurst, February 10, 2022: Gravel put together a good performance in his last game, stopping 39 of 42 shots against Acadie-Bathurst. The first thing that stands out about him is how active he is playing the puck. He likes to hold onto the puck almost every time to draw in the first forechecker, and he made some great passes to start his team’s breakout in this game. As the game went on, he definitely did this too often as there were countless times he could have made an easy play to simplify the game for his team. Gravel was solid in the first half of the game, making plenty of quality saves to keep the game scoreless until he was finally beaten during a penalty kill with 12:50 left in the second frame. The other three goals against came before the end of the period, as Gravel nor his team could find a response. Overall, Gravel played a good game besides the 7 minute lapse in the second period, and will look to get his team back on the winning track by having to steal some games. Grade: B-

U20: 2022 NHL Draft Eligible Goalie Report, December 8, 2021: Last 5 game snapshot- In what continues to be a roller-coaster of a first half for Gravel, the last 5 games have continued to follow that trend. One good outing, followed by a lopsided outing, Charles-Edward will be very battle tested for a second half stretch where the Armada are going to need him to steal a few games. Another goalie by todays standards that would be considered undersized, Charles-Edward presents a different wrinkle to shooters. He catches with his Right hand. I still believe that this sometimes catches shooters off guard due to the fact that the bulk of goalies they play against catch with their left hands. Gravel has a quick glove hand and is precise in his movements in the crease. He will need to work on his rebound control. I think his rebound issues are a compound issue with Gravel having too much drift or backwards momentum in his game. With constant movement, it creates two moving objects trying to stop each other. This is not a recipe for success.

QMJHL: Blainville-Boisbriand Armada Draft Prospects, December 7, 2021: The right catching Gravel is 6’0″ cerebral goalie who relies on his game awareness and anticipation to be in position early to make saves. He plays at the top of his crease and is quick laterally. As an undersized goalie there are times when multiple passes through the royal road can get him too far out of his crease, but Gravel will make the saves you expect a goalie to make.

2004s: Silver Stick International Port Huron, MI, February 10, 2019: Looks like the righty played in Quebec last season. Again, we did not have our goalie scout there as 2004 is a tough age to gauge goaltenders. He stood out, specifically in a shutout win over Compuware that really was the difference in Mississauga making the playoffs. He is big, moved well and competed for pucks. He has flair too. Had fun playing with his teammates. Hugged one after a nice save and high-fived another after tying up a puck. It was fun to watch and he is quite good as well. Grade: A-
