AJHL: Brooks Bandits vs Calgary Canucks, April, 2021: Corson has excellent size, skating, compete, and skill. He is a complete package with tons of versatility and a guy who plays well at both ends of the ice. He plays like a man amongst boys in this league on any given night. He is calm and poised with the puck on his stick. His stride is powerful and he can play big minutes while still maintaining a high level of play. His balance and strength on his skates are strong and he is tough to knock off the puck. He is a threat on the power play with his excellent vision and puck movement. His shot is heavy from the point but also very accurate. The ‘03 gets off strong one-timers and quick slap shots and his release is smooth and explosive on his wrist shot. He contributes on the penalty kill as well and will play tough and physical in the defensive zone while also being active with his stick and transitioning quickly up the ice after a turnover. His hockey IQ is off the charts and he can anticipate the play and know where to be and when to be there. There is a lot to like about this prospect and he should easily push to be an NHL first round draft pick. Grade: A
AJHL: Okotoks Oilers vs. Brooks Bandits, October 2020: Does really well joining the rush and pushing the opposing team onto their heels. He is a larger player but walks the blue line with great skating ability and good head fakes to clear lanes for himself when shooting from the point. On the defensive side, Carson will put himself in front of any shot trying to block all opportunities on his side. B-
World Junior A Challenge, December 2019: The 16 year old from Canada West has a lot of talent–he is a fluid skater, able to move up, down, and around the ice with ease. He moves the puck hard and with accuracy. He likes to have the puck on his stick, and can carry it for easy exits and entries. He has slick hands, and a willingness to jump up in the play offensively. He has a heavy point shot, and can bring it with a big wind up or with a quick snap. He did get caught up occasionally for odd man rushes against, and still has things to clean up defensively, but he is a great young player. The 2003-born skater is NHL draft eligible in 2021 and committed to Wisconsin for 2022. Grade: C+
Rocky Mountain Classic Bantam, November 2017: Corson has great speed and uses it to evade forechecks, coming around the net with speed and making great accurate hard breakout passes. He follows the play quickly and is very adept at jumping into offensive holes from his blueline position to help create offense. He is the QB on the powerplay, shares the puck with smarts, and has a nice hard low PP shot from the blueline. Defensively he plays a tight gap very well and closes on the attackers very quickly denying them time and space. Grade: A
