Dylan Guenther

Dylan Guenther (4.5 Star Amateur Rating, NHL Grade — A-) Forward

Looking forward to the 2021 NHL Draft Dylan is a player who will be watched closely. He’s a big winger who thrives on contact and we feel that the shortened WHL season will work to his advantage if he was willing to put in the weight room work. Dylan is listed at 170lbs right now, but if he was able to add 10 to 12 pounds of muscle during his extended training season then we feel he has a genuine opportunity to have a special draft year.

Rocky Mountain Classic Bantam, November 2017: Dylan had a strong tournament and showed very well. Once in stride he is fast and displays great agility and forward direction change.  He has a physical component to his game and uses his body well, especially when going outside of defensemen and battling for ice to the net.  He has a quick release snap shot and wrist shot and is a dangerous shooter.  He has very good skills and can find his linemates with his passes as well. Grade: A-

World Selects Invite, June 2018: One of our few unanimous “A” grades here. Dylan is still quite raw and has a very high ceiling. Here, he showed off excellent hands, real ability to dangle opponents/create something from nothing and a rocket shot on a quick release. All at about 6’ tall. He has very good touch as he used his smooth wrist shot, snap shot, backhand and some jam in the crease to score goals. His ability to get pucks to the net is rare and instinctive. High IQ  and patience with the tools to back his brain. Slick player with a high ceiling.

Canada Winter Games, March 2019: Shot first mentality in the offensive zone and off the rush. Good size and did a great job driving wide on D and taking the puck to the paint. Showed a strong one timer and his play excelled on the power play. Played a physical game while defending and on the forecheck. Was a force in the corners and very tough to hand or knock off the puck. Excelled in tight areas with good hands and protected the puck. Sneaky release off the half wall on the powerplay where he was able to beat goalies and excellent poise with the puck. Grade: B+
