Neutral Zone NHL’s Ian Moran’s comments, November 2020: Jan is extremely athletic. In general I love watching how players move in warm-ups and he is effortless. He looks hyper focused and ready to roll from the second the puck is dropped and I believe that shows in how well he tracks the puck. He shows exceptional lateral quickness, yet has the athleticsm to stay within the paint and not lose the net behind him. His glove is quick and he looks like he may be baiting players to shoot high glove. I think his adjustment to the smaller sheet is something to keep an eye on, but he has good size and he is so athletic that we will be watching him closely this year.

USHL: Muskegon Lumberjacks vs Green Bay Gamblers, November 2020: Skorpik is a very athletic goalie that competes well in battle situations. At times he can rely too much on his athleticism, but he excels at doing whatever it takes to keep the puck out of the net. He excelled at making saves from behind the goal line passes to the slot, a situation that most goalies seem to struggle with at this level. He is able to do this as he does a great job of making sure his feet are set for every shot, and isn’t moving much when making a save. His butterfly is big and covers the lower half of the net well, and he does a good job of sealing holes and not letting pucks leak through him. Skorpik excels at making the first save on attacking shots, and forces opposing teams to rely on secondary chances for scoring. His rebound control is not his greatest strength, but he did show great compete and recovery ability on making secondary saves. It was a good showing for Skorpik who will keep looking to adjust to the North American style of hockey. Grade: B
