Lukas Eich

U18: 5 Nation Tournament, November 8-14, 2022: Lukas was somewhat of a quiet player, he did not jump out at us with anything really eye catching but he was steady, consistent and dependable. At 5’10 and 165 he is undersized for his position at this age. But he has good defensive quickness and uses his jump to get to loose pucks and into corners quickly. He is not a puck carrier, he moves pucks up simple and quick. Offensively he can penetrate from the blueline if needed, but that does not appear to be a big part of his game.

U18: Czechia vs Sweden, April 13, 2022: Eich totaled 17:46 in ice time including 1:56 while shorthanded. He did not play on the power play. Offensively Eich played a simple game. There were times when we thought he could have been more aggressive when deciding to jump into the line rush, but we give him credit because he played to his defensive role and he he did it very well. He showed good foot and mobility while closing the gap and we did like how quickly he moved up the ice to take away time and space. Eich showed excellent timing by jumping passes in the neutral zone. He finished even with 0 points, 0 shots, 2 PIMs on a neutral zone trip, 1 hit, received 1 hard body check, had 1 shot blocked, 5 giveaways, 10 takeaways and he won 73% of his 11 puck battles.
