Maxim Vehovsky

Maxim VehovskyHC PorubaCzech-2LRW6’2″196Opava, CZE20052022-2023: C+

Vehovsky has an NHL frame to go along with his strength. There are times when he seems to have his way with opponents while battling on the walls and at the top of the other team’s crease. We like his willingness to drive the net and the power he shows as he pushes opposing defenders right into their goalie. As a puck carrier the puck is directly in front of him and he has shown the backhand passing ability to put sauce directly on his teammates tape. He has a sweeping release on his shot that will need to be shortened for a chance to score on goalies at higher levels. We feel he has a bad habit of turning his back on the puck during both offensive and defensive transition. Another area for concern is his lack of physicality. He is 6’2″ and 200lbs, but averages 0.37 body checks per game and has a loose puck winning percentage of 50%.
