Timur KolOmskie YastrebyMHLLD6’3″188Moskva, RUS20062023-2024: C+

Game Grade: B-

Comments: Kol looked great tonight. His improved passing ability was on display, making quick hard passes to teammates in all three zones. His skating looked great as he transitioned from edge to edge in a fluid and efficient way. He got time on the second power play unit and was able to distribute the puck well from the point. There is still room for improvement as he needs to be more thoughtful about his passes, attempting to make plays rather than just a quick pass to an open teammate. His decision making is better than it used to be but we want to see him create shot opportunities with his passes in the OZ. In the DZ we noticed him stray a bit far from his spots when chasing opponents around. He was able to make some good stops but needs to be more disciplined in the DZ. Consistent improvement each game we watch. Love to see the growth from Kol.

Danila SysoyevOmskie YastrebyMHLRLW5’10”179Achinsk, RUS20062023-2024: B

Game Grade: C

Comments: Sysoyev had a rough performance in comparison to our other viewings of him this year. His pass decisions were just horrible. He just threw the puck away with careless passes all night and racked up what we assume was 7+ turnovers in the process. Over and over again we wrote down that he made rushed passes without thinking and wasted many opportunities for his team. He showed flashes of the high end skill and pace that he played at the last few games which held him up to the fourth tier. But this was a poor showing for Sysoyev. Hopefully he can return to the highly skilled player we have watched so far this year.

Andrei KuryanovOmskie YastrebyMHLLLW5’9″153Orekhovo-Zuyevo, RUS20072024-2025: B

Game Grade: C+

Comments: 16 year old Kuryanov was a standout in tonight’s game. This was our first time noticing him and we were impressed with the skill and confidence he put on display. He showed quick and well timed stick handles that he was able to weave through the defense with. He controlled the puck with great pace and was very calm in his decision making. He looked to get to space and find open teammates to make strong passes to. He played with intention working hard to get the puck into the OZ and try to set up chances for himself and teammates. We like his game and will be watching next time to see if he can bring it again.
