Comments: Wyatt is a huge 6’4 right handed defenseman so that alone will catch the eye of pro scouts. For a big man his skating is solid, pivoting easily into his corner on retrievals and able to generate power from his lower body. He plays a fairly aggressive game. He will deep pinch in the OZ if he reads he can win, and plays a good gap defending in the face of the attack. Super long stick due to his size helps when he defends and he can break up a lot of plays with his reach. He battles hard in corners and at the net and wins most strength match ups. With his size Wyatt would benefit from using his size to physically intimidate opponents a bit more. While he is physical he could use some nasty in his game and become more of a threatening big man to have to play against.

Comments: Michael had a solid outing in this viewing. He is a good sized left handed centerman who possesses a very wide powerful skating stride that allows him real good balance and strength on his blades. He was played regularly in this contest, centering North Bay’s 4th line. He plays an honest 200 foot game and displays solid work ethic in both zones. His compete level is good but he would benefit from some strength in his stick battles as he was stripped a couple of times. He has a bit of offense in his game and on one attack made a nice stick angle shift to draw puck in and fire one between a defenseman’s legs. On another attack made a nice cross with a puck and a drop for a trailing forward as he provided a screen and net presence following the drop.

Comments: Anthony is an average sized left winger in his second year with the Battalion who patrols his team’s 3d line. Anthony has very good quickness, a fast first 3 steps and good jump when he has opportunity. He shows a decent skill set and he keeps his feet moving in the offensive zone always trying to find open ice and make himself available. He moves the puck quickly to linemates and does not hesitate to drive to the net without the puck, stick on ice and ready to create some havoc at the net and drive defenders back into their zone. He gets in quick on forechecks with his quickness and his angles are good, but he would benefit from finishing his hits when he can.

Comments: A huge left handed Dman at 6’6, Konnor was impressive for how well he skates as a big man. The coach uses him a ton even strength and penalty kill, and uses him on both the right and left sides. I am noticing an increased confidence from Konnor. He is quickly gaining experience at this level and is now very active at the far blue line coming across the blueline with feet moving to be a pass option, to pinch, or to hold the blue line and keep pucks in. He attempted a lot of shots in this game and while a couple were blocked he got a lot of his quick snap shots through the crowd and on net creating rebounds and chances. Konnor now also looks for the opportunity to penetrate down from the blueline to be a pass option as he net drives. Due to his size, strength and his big reach he is difficult to attack. His mobility is good and with a long stick he is almost impossible to beat wide. He is tough in the corners and at his net and uses his size well in those areas to outmuscle opponents. He is a quick puck mover, not a rusher, but will follow up the play well. Again with his size some additional nastiness and a mean streak would be a big asset to him from an intimidation stand point.

Comments: Nick is an average sized right winger who is already an elite skater. He plays with pace in all zones and his stride is strong and powerful. He carries the puck with speed and has great mobility to seperate from defenders with his shifts. He plays the game fast and processes real well. He moves the puck quickly and to the right people. He is also a shoot first type of player, confident in a quick release shot that is accurate. He plays on his teams first powerplay unit as a wall man. From this position Nick moves the puck very well feeding defensemen and occasionally firing a hard royal road pass through the slot to the other side. Nick however tends to hold off and play too far back once the puck gets to the middle of the ice. He would benefit from leaving the wall and heading to the slot a bit more to be around the action.

Comments: Donovan is a very solid skating defenseman who plays within himself. As a minor player Donavan was more of an offensive threat than he displays now. But he has good size at 6’1 and is an excellent skater both forwards and backwards. His mobility and edge control are great and he can stop and change direction and pivot quickly in small ice areas when defending. His defensive positioning is excellent, he has the good IQ to understand good defensive positioning and he boxes out very well. Gap is tight to his check but he is alert and ready to jump loose pucks. He defends with good gap, trusting his skating to stay and play in the face of the attack. This right hander is poised with the puck under pressure , does not overhandle it, and moves pucks quick and accurately. As the season goes on it would be to his benefit to see some of the minor hockey offensive capabilities he played with begin to show regularly at the CHL level.
