Comments: Protas is a towering forward who has tremendous upside. Although his skating isn’t necessarily his strong suit, he gains body position using his size and strength and gets to where he is needed to score goals. He has a good shot and can get it off quickly, surprising the defenders and goaltender. He is hard to move, especially in the net front, and he can read plays to understand how to get open. He scored the first goal of the game by getting to the blue paint and making no mistake on a slot pass from behind the net. Overall, his ability to make plays with the puck and be a dual threat (pass/shoot option) makes him dangerous every time he is in the offensive zone.

Comments: Cristoforo is a right-shot defenseman who made some standout plays, especially in the offensive zone. He played aggressively, reading his pinches well and taking pucks down the walls to gain offensive zone time. He played with his head up and put pucks into dangerous scoring areas where his teammates were to accept his passes. Additionally, he skated well, showing good edge-work with the puck in all three zones, which bought him time to make cleaner plays. On the first goal of the game, he turned the puck over, wheeled the puck behind the net, and made a clean pass to his teammate in the slot area, who made no mistake. On the second goal, he made an individual one on one play, getting the puck free in the slot area and setting up his teammate who was wide open coming towards the net. His skill and IQ make him an all around great defender.

His tall, lanky build allows him to push pucks ahead while quickly adjusting the angle of his hands and feet to evade turnovers and generate plays toward the net. He possesses excellent vision, complemented by a strong shot and the ability to finish. His size and skating allow him to gain valuable ice, giving him more time to make decisions with or without the puck. In the second period, he scored by driving to the net, receiving a pass at full speed, and finishing top shelf with very little room to do so.

The goal itself displayed his ability to get to the net, despite being a bit smaller – keeping his feet moving at all times, and burying his chances.
