General Game Notes: October 29th, 2025 – Sarnia Sting vs. Owen Sound Attack It was an explosion of goals in the first two periods for the Attack, who came out flying against the Sting. Led by a hat-trick from #40 Tristan Delisle and a balanced effort throughout the lineup, Owen Sound took control early and never looked back. The offensive surge powered them to a 7–3 victory, a strong showing on home ice.

Carter George brings a sense of calm to his team’s net, exuding confidence through his deliberate save selection and strong rebound control. His ability to handle the puck effectively allows him to gain possession and disrupt the opposing team’s forecheck, ultimately giving his team an advantage. As a defensive-minded goaltender, George is able to limit the opposing team’s zone time by acting as a third defenseman. This unique approach enables him to make smart decisions under pressure and stay focused throughout the game.

He’s calm, balanced, and positionally sound, rarely caught out of place. His lateral movement is efficient, allowing him to track cross-ice plays and make difficult saves look routine. He manages traffic well, fighting through screens to find pucks, and shows strong rebound control, limiting second-chance opportunities. George also plays the puck confidently, helping his team transition out of the zone. His steady demeanor and composure in the crease set the tone for those in front of him.

The first goal of the game was a perfect example — he pressured the defense behind the net, stole the puck, and jammed it into the crease, battling until it found its way in. Throughout the game, he showed strong chemistry with his linemates, moving the puck well and finding open ice. Not an overly physical player, but his pace and compete level consistently generate energy and momentum for his team.

He scored a beautiful goal in the first period, collecting a puck in the middle of the ice, curling around a defender, and firing a quick, accurate shot past the goaltender. While not overly flashy offensively, he does a lot of the little things right—getting to hard areas on the ice and creating opportunities where goals are scored. A strong, reliable presence who impacts the game through compete, positioning, and smart play.

Wray is a physically gifted forward who utilizes his speed and skill to control play. He excels at creating separation from defenders through his explosive first step, allowing him to shield the puck and drive towards the net. In key moments, he demonstrated his ability to capitalize on loose pucks and beat opponents in foot races. While he didn’t finish all of his scoring chances, Wray’s overall impact was significant as he consistently wore down opponents with his speed, size, and inside-outside versatility.

While he can appear a bit relaxed when retrieving pucks in his own end, he consistently gets his stick on the play, uses his stick-handling to evade pressure, and effectively breaks the puck out. In the offensive zone, he reads plays well, pinches intelligently, and keeps pucks alive. He demonstrates strong puck skills, creating scoring chances and getting pucks to the net, while making tape-to-tape passes across all three zones to maintain possession and drive play. A smart, skilled player who impacts the game consistently.

Sykora’s skillset is defined by his creativity and vision in the offensive zone. He excels at collecting pucks cleanly and maintaining control, often making smart decisions on the ice. His hands are a notable asset, allowing him to play with his head up and scan for teammates. In the defensive zone, he is relentless on the forecheck, using his reach and tenacity to disrupt plays. Sykora’s ability to apply pressure in the offensive zone leads to opportunities, and his vision off the rush is impressive. He makes smart plays quickly, reading the game well and knowing where to place the puck to generate chances. His fluidity on the ice allows him to navigate through traffic and create space.

Throughout the game he laid some bone-crushing hits whether it was open-ice or along the walls. He uses his big frame effectively to protect pucks and battles hard along the walls, consistently corralling loose pucks and driving them toward the net. What makes him dynamic is his blend of physicality and skill — he can impose himself physically while still making smart, creative plays. Early in the second period, he showcased that combination with a beautiful tape-to-tape pass to the slot that resulted in a goal, highlighting his vision and poise with the puck. His versatility and relentless approach make him a difficult player to play against every shift.

Tristan Delisle (C, L, 5’11”, 183, Owen Sound Attack, 05/15/2007)
