WHL Playoffs:  Everett (3) @ Kelowna (4)

The hometown Kelowna Rockets staved off elimination by scoring three straight goals in the third period over a 12 minute span, with the tying goal coming with 7.7 seconds remaining…then scored just over two minutes into overtime for a thrilling 4-3 come from behind victory over the Everett Silvertips. The difference in this game was Rockets goaltender Josh Banini, who came on in relief with his team down 3-0. He closed the door for 44 minutes of regulation time making 29 saves, many of the spectacular variety early on. Rockets goals came from Tij Iginla with two, including the game winner, while Hiroki Gojsic and Shane Smith on the power-play added singles. The Silvertips goals came off the sticks of Julius Miettinen, Matias Vanhanen and Brek Liske.

WHL Playoffs:  Everett (4) @ Kelowna (1)

The hometown Kelowna Rockets threw everything they had at the Everett Silvertips but, goaltender Anders Miller was equal to the task stopping all 16 pucks that came at him in the first period, and making 36 saves overall. Several stops were of the very difficult variety, one off a breakaway. The Tips got goals from Mattias Vanhanen, Brek Liske, Julius Miettinen and Lukas Kaplan on a penalty shot. Tomas Poletin was able to get one past Miller to make the final 4-1 Silvertips.

WHL Playoffs:  Medicine Hat (5) @ Calgary (2)

This was a closer game than the score suggests, with two empty net goals coming towards the end of the third period. This was a dominant performance from the Tigers best players and proved to be too much for the Hitmen to contain. A short handed goal to tie the game really was a turning point tonight.

WHL Playoffs:  Saskatoon (0) @ Prince Albert (3)

Despite doubling Saskatoons shot total, the Raiders maintained constant pressure over the full sixty minutes. They controlled play in all three zones, generated the better scoring chances, and had the edge on special teams even though the game ultimately produced no goals.
