Comments: The left-catching goalie started the game for his team, playing around thirty minutes. His first few shots were a bit challenging to control, but he settled in as the game progressed, managing rebounds well and controlling the pace of play. Quick to read the puck, the athletic goalie made an impressive reflex save on a shot that changed direction completely after a deflection in front of him. Lacelle quickly recovered to stop the puck in mid-air. He finished the game without allowing a goal, showing excellent mobility and the ability to move quickly in all directions

Comments: Villeneuve showed his full talent with the puck in this game. He displayed high-level stickhandling at full speed both on the rush and in the offensive zone, controlling the puck at the blue line and easily handling pressure from defenders. The left-handed offensive-minded defenseman also proved effective in his own zone, staying in front of his goalie and preventing opponents from recovering rebounds. He positioned himself well near his opponents, giving them little room to generate offense. Throughout the game, he used precise and effective one-handed poke checks to disrupt plays. Late in the game, he had a chance in the shootout but was stopped by the goalie.

Comments: It was a quieter game for the left-handed forward for the A grade prospect according to the NHL central scouting ranking. However, with the puck, he showed high-level stickhandling skills throughout the match and even in the shootout, scoring a goal on his backhand. Shilov was effective on the power play, holding position on the perimeter and alternating between shots and passes to create offensive chances. Although he didn’t record many points, he delivered an excellent pass through the defensive box to set up a teammate with an open net.

Comments: The hometown right-handed forward started the game strong, showing high-level intensity from the opening whistle. Rousseau stood out with several big hits and quick transitions through the offensive zone. His coach trusted him on the right-side faceoffs, where he consistently won draws with ease. Although his offensive impact was more limited in this game, his physical style and willingness to skate deep to support his defensemen showed that he is a well-rounded, complete player.
Jan Larys (G, L, 6’2″, 161, Drummondville Voltigeurs, 02/14/2008)

Comments: Larys entered the game midway through the second period with his team holding the lead. From that point on, the opponent’s scoring chances increased significantly, and Larys struggled to keep his team in the game. The left-catching goalie allowed 4 goals in just 20 minutes of play, giving up a few dangerous rebounds close to his crease that led directly to two goals. He also allowed 2 goals on 3 shootout attempts. It was a tough situation for him to come in midway through the game as the intensity rose, making it difficult to find his rhythm and settle in.

Comments: Chartrand showed strong backward skating, allowing him to stay well positioned and face opposing rushes early. He handled the puck with confidence, moving it efficiently to help his team transition up the ice. At times, the right-handed defenceman hesitated under pressure, showing some doubt in his decision-making. On one play at the opposing blue line, he was beaten on a bouncing puck after hesitating to make a move. Still, he kept his game simple overall and limited mistakes, providing steady support on the back end.

Comments: The defensive-minded defenceman who excels at stopping plays in his own zone. Fortin uses his stick effectively and applies solid body pressure along the boards, often winning puck battles. He reads the play well and isn’t afraid to join the rush to add some offensive support. In the second period, he missed a pass near the net but stayed close to the crease instead of returning to the blue line — a decision that paid off as he recovered the puck and scored his team’s opening goal. Overall, the big-sized defenceman was effective at both ends of the ice, providing reliable defence while contributing offensively when the opportunity came.

Murnieks quick pressure on opponents and strong forechecking created a few turnovers that helped his team regain possession. However, his offensive impact was limited in this game, as he didn’t generate many scoring chances. Comments: Korneyev had a quiet game overall, spending long stretches without the puck, but he was effective on the power play around the net, screening the goalie and retrieving loose pucks. In the neutral zone, he struggled at times to find passing options and move the puck quickly under pressure. His net-front presence paid off late in the game when he picked up a rebound and scored the game tying goal with 1:17 left on the clock. The left-handed forward also showed good puck control in the shootout, displaying strong stick-handling skills before being stopped by the goalie.
