Comments: 2008-born defenseman Jackson is a smooth-skating, intelligent blueliner with excellent puck skills and strong offensive awareness. His passing is crisp and well-timed, consistently finding teammates in stride and creating scoring opportunities, highlighted by a quick pass that set up a one-timer to bring his team within one. Jackson reads the ice exceptionally well, knowing where to place pucks on shots and how to support plays in the offensive zone. His lateral mobility and quickness help him hold the blue line effectively, keeping plays alive and facilitating clean zone entries. However, defensively, he can struggle with physical engagement, allowing opponents to push past due to a lack of assertiveness and strength. An attempted step-up in the neutral zone while using one hand on his stick led to a lost stick and a dangerous rush against, demonstrating the need for more controlled positioning and stick management. Additionally, his zone-exit passes sometimes lack pace and accuracy under pressure, as he can panic when forechecked aggressively. Overall, Jackson combines skill, vision, and mobility to be a high-impact offensive defenseman, and with added physicality and composure in pressure situations, he has the potential to be a reliable two-way contributor.

Comments: 2007-born defenseman Tommy is a highly mobile, puck-moving defenseman with excellent offensive instincts and strong hockey sense. He skates exceptionally well with the puck, using his speed and agility to create plays and jump into scoring opportunities. Tommy demonstrates smart positioning off faceoffs, sneaking into the slot to receive a pass and fire a shot that rang off the post, and his quick snap shot from the blue line consistently challenges goaltenders. He reads the offensive zone intelligently, stepping in to create steals and maintain pressure, and shows poise on the power play with smart shooting and puck movement. Defensively, Tommy has good stick skills to take away passing lanes, though he can occasionally get turned around, leading to breakdowns, such as one instance where he lost track of a man who scored. While he doesn’t play a very physical game, when he does engage, it’s smart and effective — a notable example being a well-timed step-up on a larger player to prevent a zone entry. To further elevate his game, Tommy could improve his anticipation on clearing attempts and increase his overall physical engagement, but his combination of speed, vision, and puck skills makes him a high-impact two-way defenseman.

Comments: 2007-born forward Rian is a smart, skilled player who combines good hands with strong hockey sense to impact play in both the offensive and defensive zones. While not the fastest skater, he uses intelligent short passes to maintain puck control in the offensive zone and consistently protects the puck along the boards, making it difficult for defenders to dislodge him. Rian shows excellent awareness and hustle on the forecheck, keeping his stick active and creating turnovers, though he occasionally gets a bit too aggressive, as evidenced by a high-sticking penalty in a tied game. Offensively, he has a quick release and a nice snap shot, demonstrated on a rush where he maneuvered around two defenders, forcing the goalie to make a strong save. Defensively, he reads the ice well, but could benefit from moving a little quicker to maintain proper coverage and keep shooting lanes filled. Rian also demonstrates great touch and vision on his passes, consistently setting up teammates for scoring opportunities. Overall, he’s a hardworking, skilled forward who impacts the game with his hands, hockey IQ, and forechecking ability, and with slightly more speed and disciplined physical play, he can become an even more

Comments: 2008-born goalie Anthony is a confident netminder with good puck-handling skills, though his lean frame presents challenges in net coverage and rebound control. He displays flexibility and quickness, making impressive saves such as reacting to a cross-ice pass and raising his blocker while moving to stop a shot, and showing calm, confident glove saves on well-read plays. Anthony’s angles and positioning are generally sound, and he uses his height and butterfly width effectively to cover tight shots. However, he struggles with rebound control, often leaving opportunities for opponents, and can be inconsistent tracking pucks, particularly on tips or quick passes. Some unusual or early movements, such as going down too quickly on a one-timer or diving for a cross-ice play, have led to goals, while on other occasions he managed to recover enough to allow his defense to clear the puck. Overall, Anthony has excellent flexibility, solid hockey IQ, and strong fundamentals, but improving rebound control, puck tracking, and consistency under pressure will be key to maximizing his potential in net.

Comments: 2008-born forward Egor is a dynamic, highly skilled player who excels in all aspects of the offensive game and shows strong commitment on the penalty kill. He is aggressive in defending, winning puck battles and using his strength to create turnovers, and is extremely effective on faceoffs. Egor’s hands and skating are exceptional, allowing him to make quick, decisive moves that consistently put him in scoring positions. He has a quick-release shot, demonstrated on a well-executed setup, and shows great anticipation by attacking rebounds and loose pucks in the offensive zone, such as retrieving a puck off the boards after a goalie’s attempt to clear and creating an immediate scoring chance. Egor reads the play well, capitalizing on misplays in the neutral zone to ignite rushes, using quick moves and short passes to keep the attack alive. He demonstrates patience and poise on the power play, regaining the puck and firing a precise shot into the top corner, and shows smart timing to get open and accept passes for high-percentage opportunities, including an empty-net goal. The only area for improvement is making his moves to the net slightly quicker, as he occasionally hesitates when a scoring chance is available. Overall, Egor is a highly skilled, intelligent forward with elite hands, speed, and scoring instincts, capable of influencing the game in every zone.

Comments: 2008-born forward Alexey is a highly skilled and active player with excellent awareness and quick hands. He shows good defensive instincts, such as stepping out of the box to make a pickoff and backchecking effectively to intercept cross-ice passes, even generating turnovers with quick stick lifts. Offensively, Alexey has a lethal shot, demonstrated by a powerful snapshot through traffic and a bullet of a one-timer off a great power-play pass that beat the goalie under the bar. He reads the play well and can create scoring chances, though he occasionally makes risky decisions, such as a blind pass or holding the puck too long, which can lead to turnovers. His forechecking is generally effective, but there are moments where he eases up and allows defenders to escape with the puck. Overall, Alexey combines skill, hockey IQ, and a strong shot to be a dangerous offensive threat, and with more consistent decision-making and sustained effort on both ends of the ice, he can become a highly impactful two-way forward.

Comments: 2008-born forward Enzo is a gritty, hard-working player who competes consistently in the corners and along the boards, though his smaller size sometimes makes it difficult to win physical battles. He has good speed and puck movement, generating offensive opportunities with smart passes and a well-timed stop-and-turn to lead a rush into the zone. Enzo shows a very active stick on the forecheck, creating turnovers and disrupting plays, and has a sense for tipping pucks around the crease, evidenced by a beautiful tip that narrowly missed. On the power play, he plays the left point effectively, firing a hard low shot that deflected off a teammate’s stick for a go-ahead goal. While his hockey sense is strong, some of his decision-making and hands under pressure need refinement; he occasionally loses possession on risky neutral-zone passes, gets his stick lifted easily when carrying the puck, and struggles to absorb passes cleanly, which can negate scoring chances. On breakaways, Enzo’s speed can be an asset, but longer strides and quicker execution would make him far more dangerous offensively. Overall, he’s a competitive, smart player with good vision and forechecking ability, and with improved puck skills and physical play, he can become a more complete offensive threat.

Comments: 2009-born forward Loik is a thoughtful, intelligent player with solid puck sense and good situational awareness, though his skating ability limits his overall impact. He shows patience with the puck and consistently reads the play, positioning himself to move the puck effectively and make responsible decisions in the defensive and neutral zones. Loik’s stick work is strong, highlighted by an excellent block followed by a quick poke to clear the puck out of the defensive zone. While he doesn’t have flashy moves, he handles the puck well enough to enter the offensive zone and contribute, but his execution can be inconsistent; a poor passing choice on a zone exit led to a turnover and scoring chance, and he attempted a risky pass on an empty-net opportunity instead of shooting. Loik would benefit from simplifying his game, making more intentional plays, and focusing on fundamental decision-making to maximize his effectiveness despite slower skating. Overall, he is a smart, capable forward whose awareness and puck-handling skills can make him an asset if paired with more decisive and controlled play.

Korney Korneyev (C, L, 6’1″, 178, Victoriaville Tigers, 10/16/2007)

Comments: 2007-born forward Korney is a smart, physical, and skilled player who combines size, puck confidence, and hockey IQ to make plays in all areas of the ice. He pursues the puck effectively, often going opposite the defenseman and using contact to strip the puck, and shows a willingness to mix it up in front of the net, making himself hard to see and holding position well in traffic. Korney is smooth with the puck, capable of creative plays such as a spin move leading to a quick pass that sprung his team on an odd-man rush, or threading a pass through traffic to create scoring opportunities. He demonstrates defensive awareness with actions like sliding blocks, but he prefers using his stick over his body, which sometimes leads to unnecessary risk, such as extending a knee in open ice. While confident with the puck, he tends to make too many blind backhand passes and needs to improve accuracy and control at full speed, as he occasionally loses possession when handling the puck one-handed. Overall, Korney is a physical, intelligent forward with excellent vision and skill, and with more disciplined puck management and sharper passing, he can become a highly effective two-way contributor.
