Radek Vyhlidal

Radek VyhlidalHC Litvinov U20Czech U20RD5’9″159Litvinov, CZE20052022-2023: C

Vyhlidal is smooth skating undersized right shot defender who primarily plays the left side. He is still developing his overall strength and power, but he is very quick laterally and has the type of feet where he does not need to crossover to maintain tight gaps while defending. His passes are hard flat and on time. While playing for Litvinov U20 he is in charge of controlling their power play breakout and deciding whether they will use the slingshot option or not. Vyhlidal also has the coach’s confidence to run their power play from the top of the umbrella. During both 5 on 5 and man down situations he chooses to front his man in front of the net and honestly at a very slight looking 5’9″ 159lbs we feel this is the right decision as he can then use his quickness to break up passing attempts and win races to loose pucks.

Although Vyhlidal has yet to represent his Czechia in International competition and is still quite small we feel this is a player to watch closely over the remaining few months of the season. He has the feet to take away time & space in all three zones, the passing & receiving skills that NHL teammates will demand and even though he is still quite light & small he has found a way to win 83% of his puck battles while playing U20 hockey for Litvinov.
