WHL: Seattle Thunderbirds at Tri-City Americans, March 25, 2022: In the 3-1 win over Tri-City Schaefer earned 18:47 in total ice time, including 3:37 while on the power play and 2:35 while shorthanded. Statistically he finished with 0 points, a plus / minus rating of 0, 3 shots on goal (2PP), 4 grade “A” scoring opportunity, had 7 penalty minutes, went 1 for 2 on face-offs, 1 hit, 3 shots blocked and had 10 giveaways versus 2 takeaways. It was difficult to not like what Schaefer brought to the game tonight. He was a physical presence who used his speed to be a disruptive force on the forecheck and in front of Tri-City’s net. We loved his puck pursuit while backchecking and the mindset he showed to skate hard all the way to the crease when needed to break up a play in front of his net. In the offensive zone he used his frame and puck protection skills to attack the net from below the goal line and when he drove wide on a line rush Schaefer left no doubt that he was going to carry the puck to the far post. He a a fight and genuinely looked like he had fun playing the game.

AJHL: Drayton Valley Thunder vs Spruce Grove Saints, October 27, 2020: He is a big body forward that uses his size to be a power forward but has a high level of skill that he brings with it. Drew a nice penalty on a breakout because he beat the defender and kept his feet moving so the player had to take a penalty. Showed his strength in the corner where he used his free hand to keep pushing the defender off of him while he worked below the goal line until he found an open man in front. He makes opposing players look weak when playing against him. Grade: A
