Game Sheet

Andrew Reyelts (G, L, 6’2″, 186, Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 03/20/2006, Lindenwood)

Game Rating

B+

AJ Reyelts, a 6’1″ goalie, showcases impressive athleticism and composure in his crease. He excels at controlling rebounds and moving efficiently within his space, using quick angle adjustments to cover shots on goal. However, his weight shifts can hinder his movement, reducing his power and effectiveness in cross-crease movements. Despite this, Reyelts demonstrates solid positioning and ability to read plays, taking control of the game when needed.

Comments: The 6’1′ goaltender for the Roughriders plays a deeper depth to limit larger movements, track pucks effectively, and center his body on plays. Playing a simplified game, he can drop into pucks and use awkward parts of his body like shoulders and elbows to fight off pucks. Limiting larger scale movements keeps it simple but when they do occur, he lacks the power to keep up with plays yet stay ahead of them. Controlling rebounds is a strength and eliminates second chance opportunities but a more active stick could be beneficial. Using a stance differential and a more relaxed stance allows him to see above screens and stay athletic to track pucks and react. Around his posts he maintains his feet as much as possible to stay mobile and is comfortable in a reverse for in tight play. A solid performance but coming up short in the 3-1 loss to Dubuque. Grade: B+

Liam Beerman (G, L, 6’0″, 177, Dubuque Fighting Saints, 09/30/2004, Lindenwood)

Game Rating

A-

Liam Beerman’s playstyle is characterized by his calmness within the crease, relying heavily on fundamentals to excel. He demonstrates strong tracking skills and can effectively seal the ice in his butterfly position. While he shows good mobility in certain situations, there are instances where he loses balance due to a wider base, which can hinder quick recoveries. In terms of movement, Beerman tends to set his feet quickly on threats but sometimes struggles with additional movements or power once down. His ability to control rebounds and direct pucks away from traffic is impressive, making his game relatively simple. With frequent scans of the zone, he identifies threats effectively and makes timely saves.

Comments: Although not seeing a lot of action this year the Michigan native plays a smart game based on fundamentals and remaining within his game creating a calm demeanor. Beerman has exceptional body control and stays balanced enabling him to move fluidly and be reactive to plays. Dropping into pucks as well as setting his feet and body on plays allows him to move with confidence. With an upright chest he controls rebounds to his upper body well smothering them or keeping them close to be covered. For an average build at just under 6′ he plays a little deeper in his crease allowing him to read pucks and gains depth when needed on line rushes or open looks. This stems from an ability to read plays aided by scans of the zone to identify threats. His hands/stick tended to be left behind his body leaving them out of position and forcing him to regain although not hurting him in this contest. With another solid performance the Lindenwood Commit improves to 11-1 on the season stopping 32 of 33. Grade: A-

Devin Rustlie (G, L, 6’4″, 175, Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 02/10/2006)

Game Rating

Devin Rustlie’s game is built on his physical presence, with a wide butterfly that effectively seals off the ice. This allows him to control space and make it difficult for opponents to get close. His shoulder checks and zone scans enable him to anticipate threats and track pucks. While he excels in comfort around his posts, his static hands can lead to rebounds on shots taken directly at him.
