Game Rating

B+

William Prowse is a skilled hockey player with effective use of his body positioning and agility in the crease. He excels at moving quickly and precisely, using his power to control pucks in tight spaces. While he has moments of composure under pressure, there are instances where his stance adjustments affect his balance. Prowse is comfortable playing in his posts, using a reverse to maintain mobility, and effectively seals the ice.

Comments: The Princeton Tigers commit plays a composed game adding depth and relying on his fundamentals. His movement stems from a static and set stance that is precise and fluid but lacks power at times putting him behind plays. A lack of power coming from a widening stance but able to stay well balanced and upright. Adding depth to his game effectively reduces angles and adds to his 6′ tall frame. Making a good use of a lateral release as well as dropping into pucks works effectively from his higher depth and he uses it well. A calm and condensed use of a reverse seals holes down low but an adjustment of his back foot further into his chest will give more control moving in and out. Maintaining his feet in his posts enables for better movement. Scanning the ice to read plays aids in save selection but could be more frequent when pucks are in dead areas. A use of a stance differential allows him to see above or through screens but switching eyesight he loses track. A solid foundation to build on for the 2006 born from Colorado. Grade: B+

Daniel Moor (G, L, 6’2″, 188, Omaha Lancers, 01/17/2006, Princeton)

Game Rating

B+

Daniel Moor is a skilled goaltender with a condensed and fluid movement style that stems from an athletic base. He is able to balance on his edges, move with power, and control rebounds effectively. His hands and chest don’t provide static balance, but he compensates by using his athleticism to stay balanced and poised in the crease. Moor’s hip mobility allows him to track pucks well and make big saves, although he can be slightly slow to gain and lose depth. He shows good composure and control, taking frequent scans and shoulder checks to ensure a calm game.

Comments: The 2006 birth year from Allendale New Jersey showcases a very agile and athletic play style based around a solid skillset. From a condensed stance under his shoulders, he creates balance and power that allow him to be precise and agile. At just over 6’1′ he uses this agility to gain depth and add size to his frame. An ability to read plays allows him to judge depth and beat plays on his feet. Occasionally struggling with dropping and reaching makes pucks to his hands more difficult to adjust to. He finds success dropping into pucks or using a lateral release while moving. Centering his body on pucks and staying balanced gives him body control to swallow rebounds and be reactive to second chance opportunities. With the ability to use an overlap as well as a reverse and use them well it gives him the option from awkward angles to keep a calm presence and still move effectively. Maintaining his feet is where he finds most success but regaining right away and catching edges allows him to stay withing his crease. More frequent scans to identify threats can aid in maintaining his feet and reading plays. An active and agile goaltender with a solid foundation set him up for success in the future dropping this contest 3-2. Grade: B+
