Comments: The 2007 born Slovakian native moves with power and adds depth to create more size while creating a nice seal of the ice. Very active feet and stance differential helps him stay mobile but a more static composed stance and setting his feet on threats could improve save selection and reduce some scrambling. Comfortable around his posts and awkward angles using a reverse and building size upwards makes for a compact seal with no holes. The flattening of his chest and body in these angles helps with lateral movement but reduces width of his body. More frequent shoulder checks and scans can help with precision in movement and identifying threats making his game easier. A puck stopping goaltender and making first saves effectively he tracks pucks into his body well and can effectively control rebounds. Making some big saves and keeping Green Bay in this game the newcomer has shown his capability at this level but has some improvements to make. Overall stopping 36 shots in this contest and surrendering just two goals to give the Gamblers a chance to win. Grade: B+
Stephen Peck (G, L, 6’2″, 180, Muskegon Lumberjacks, 01/18/2005, Michigan)
Game Rating
A-
Stephen Peck displays a solid foundation of skills on the ice, showcasing precise movement and ability to center his body effectively against threats. He maintains a calm composure in the crease and demonstrates strong hands for rebound control and smothering pucks. However, there are moments where he struggles with screens, particularly when his stance widens or he loses focus. Peck’s feet often widen as plays approach, causing him to reach for pucks, but he recovers well by using a stance differential to see through screens. His use of shoulder checks is also commendable, allowing him to stay in front of pucks and direct them to the corners. While he may not be perfect, Peck’s overall skillset suggests potential for improvement.

Comments: The 2005 born Michigan Wolverines commit has a calm demeanor in the crease along with a strong set of fundamentals to base his game around. An upright stance with a balanced upper body and feet under his shoulders ensures he is always mobile. Holding a mid-depth and gaining when he needs to shows his recognition of plays and adds to his 6’2′ frame. His identification of plays comes from relatively frequent scans of the ice and shoulder checks although he could benefit from them more often when plays are away from dangerous areas. Visual head movement and tracking of pucks allows the New York native to control rebounds effectively and control the play in his zone. Putting together a solid season and showing strong fundamentals sets the Lumberjacks goaltender up for success. Stopping all but one of 23 shots in this contest securing the 2-1 road win. Grade: A-
