Mikhail Yegorov (G, L, 6’5″, 182, Omaha Lancers, 03/07/2006, Boston University)
Grade: A
Comments: Omaha: Mikhail Yegorov (2006) The Russian native and New jersey draft pick plays a composed game with a larger frame that sees him beating plays and staying ahead of opportunities. Scans of the zone and shoulder checks aid in staying ahead of plays and precision movement. Centering his chest on shots and dropping slightly into pucks showing some high-level skillsets in his play. With a large frame his comfortability in his posts is remarkable and he uses a reverse well sealing the ice and eliminating holes. Some rebounds were allowed for second chance opportunities. Overall, a good skillset and calm confident demeanor for the Russian. A solid performance stopping 44/48 keeping the lancers in this one and getting one point in overtime.
Aiden Wright (G, L, 6’1″, 185, Sioux Falls Stampede, 10/26/2005, Vermont)
Grade: B+
Comments: Sioux Falls: Aiden Wright (2005) The Vermont commit has a condensed stance and an upright chest that creates good balance and allows him to play a calm game in the crease. His movement is precise but lacks the power at times to beat plays. Rebound control to his body swallowed pucks and killed plays while pucks to his lower body occasionally saw second chance opportunities. Favoring a reverse when pucks are down low moving out of his posts when making larger cross crease movements are more difficult. When his balance does get thrown off his chest will tend to fall forward, and hinder movement seen on one of the goals against. Not a very busy game but getting the job done for the Stampede, and a solid foundation of skills to build on. Grade: B+
