Eddie Revenig | Fargo Force | USHL | L | D | 5’10” | 176 | Bemidji State | 2024 | Edina, MN | 2005 | Not yet rated |
Game Grade: C
Comments: Revenig is a responsible two-way defender. He plays a simple game and remains positionally sound/aware in his own end. He moves well and has a smooth skating form. He was able to complete multiple passes under pressure. His best play of the night came in transition for his team where he saw an opportunity to join the rush after an opponent fell. This showed great awareness and he was able to help create an opportunity at the other end by giving his teammates an extra option. Solid game from Revenig.
Brian Lonergan | Fargo Force | USHL | R | D | 5’11” | 170 | Michigan | 2025 | Montvale, NJ | 2005 | 2023-2024: C |
Game Grade: C+
Comments: Lonergan is a strong, sturdy two-way defenseman. He plays positionally sound and responsible defense. He joined the rush multiple times this game and was not afraid to activate deep into the offensive zone with the puck. He was a bit overconfident at times, forcing plays or cuts that were not available and turning over the puck. He is still gaining explosiveness but can generate some decent speed when he has enough runway. He showed off good use of heel-to-heel skating on one rush attempt where he opened his hips towards the goal in an attempt to pass the puck to the slot. Nothing overly flashy about his game tonight but he seems to be a reliable two-way defenseman in the USHL.
Mac Swanson | Fargo Force | USHL | L | F | 5’7″ | 157 | North Dakota | 2024 | Anchorage, AK | 2006 | 2023-2024: C |
Game Grade: B+
Comments: Swanson is a highly skilled playmaker with great vision and pass accuracy. His head is always up when the puck is on his stick, and he makes quick, smart passes that directly lead to scoring chances. His vision is elite. He spots teammates cutting from all angles and is able to thread passes through traffic, directly onto the tape. He was able to execute quick, one touch passes under pressure and showed a great ability to adapt to changing situations in a quick and thoughtful manner. Mac does a good job of finding open space without the puck. He slides into soft areas and becomes an option. He finished tonight’s game with a goal and a secondary assist. His goal came late in the second period to break a tie when he slipped into open space in the slot, found a loose puck, and buried it over a sprawling goaltender. His skating is a weak point. He moves with a wide legged stride and spends a majority of the time on his inside edges. He can generate some decent speed but not enough to beat opponents with his feet. This was an impressive outing for Swanson as he was able to pick up 2 points and generate a ton of quality looks in the offensive zone.
Trevor Connelly | Tri City Storm | USHL | L | LW | 6’1″ | 156 | Providence | 2025 | Tustin, CA | 2006 | 2023-2024: A- |
Game Grade: B
Comments: Connelly is a very quick skater. He has very impressive speed and is able to accelerate to his top gear in a few quick strides. He showed off good vision tonight, finding teammates up ice and quickly moving them the puck. One of his best passes came on a 2nd period power play where he pulled off a gorgeous shot pass to a teammate cutting into the crease. It would have resulted in an easy goal into an open net, but his teammate redirected it a bit too far and missed the net. Another came early in the game where he executed a perfect one touch pass to a teammate in motion that set up an easy breakout. He flies up ice on the rush and was able to enter the zone with control multiple times. He showed off some silky hands and was able to cut towards the net with confidence. There were a couple moments where he got too confident and attempted to force moves through defenders resulting in turnovers. His play without the puck leaves a lot to be desired. He rarely gives his full effort on the forecheck and doesn’t back check at all. We also caught him breaking the defensive zone and cherry picking at times. He is a heavily offensive forward and wants to rush the puck up ice with speed every time he gets the puck. He picked up 2 secondary assists this game. Connelly is a highly skilled and incredibly quick forward that needs to improve his play away from the puck and become more of a team player.
Cameron Briere | Tri City Storm | USHL | L | C | 5’10” | 153 | Nebraska Omaha | 2025 | Oakville, ON | 2005 | Not yet rated |
Game Grade: C+
Comments: Briere had an up and down game but when he was on, he was able to create some quality chances. His motor was consistent tonight, providing good effort on the forecheck and making opponents’ lives more difficult by finishing checks. Early in the game, he had a lot of trouble possessing pucks. He turned the puck over multiple times while trying to beat opponents 1v1. He had a lot of trouble escaping pressure and maintaining possession and struggled to complete passes consistently. As the night went on, he began to settle in a bit more and was able to move the puck with confidence and generate scoring chances through his playmaking. We will be looking for more from Briere in our next viewing.
Ryan Smith | Tri City Storm | USHL | R | RW | 5’10” | 180 | UMass Amherst | 2024 | Pendleton, NY | 2005 | 2023-2024: C |
Game Grade: B-
Comments: Smith is a smooth skating forward with good playmaking ability and some slick hands. He was able to escape defensive pressure well with some agile turns into space. It was difficult to take possession from him tonight due to a smooth combination of skating and hands. He adapts to pressure well and uses his edgework to open his hips and slip around opponents. He keeps his head up and makes well timed passes to keep possession in the offensive end. He scored a big, game tying goal in the final minutes of the third period to send it to overtime when he corralled a puck off the end wall and buried it into an open cage. Smith is a smooth and skilled player, but we would like to see a bit more effort from him in his own end.
