Comments: Joey had a good game and gave his team a chance to win in the 3rd period. He is a smaller goalie and at times played with his weight back in his stance which made him appear smaller than he actually is. This was evident on his post integration and RVH position. He also sat back in his net at times instead of gaining more depth, this negatively impacted his game on the game winning goal scored against him in the 3rd. He did show good power when moving around the crease and showed effective play reading and hockey IQ. He stopped .55 goals above expected, relative to the quality and volume of the shots faced. He also had decent rebound control, showing positive control on 75% on the shots faced. Lastly, he played the puck effectively for his team. He kept his puck play simple, initiating simple but effective breakout passes to his defensemen allowing them to quickly & efficiently exit the defensive zone.

Comments: Brady played a very strong game. His movement and balance were notable all game long. He consistently moved around the crease with powerful and concise pushes. He has strong post integration efficiently moving in and out of the posts (either on his feet or RVH) all game long. He looked very calm in net all game long. He maintained excellent balance, especially his upper half of his body. He also showed high high IQ, reading plays effectively and regularly scanning for threats while the puck was in his zone. The movement and IQ allowed him to arrive at his spots early and on his feet. He was routinely set in his stance before the puck was shot at him. This resulted in a high positive rebound control (86%). He did well relative to the number and quality of shots faced, he stopped 1.75 goals above expected. Brady provided several timely saves during the game, providing stops on quality scoring chances at key moments in the game – this was on display late in the 3rd period. He had one sequence during a defensive breakdown late in the game where he correctly broke form and used his athleticism to make two desperation saves. He also played the puck effectively, making simple and efficient passes to his defensemen to initiate a smooth breakout.
