Louhivaara demonstrated impressive physical presence and movement around the crease, utilizing his height to his advantage and maintaining excellent balance. His hockey IQ is strong, allowing him to read plays accurately and anticipate threats in the defensive zone. He excels at arriving early on shots and avoiding desperation saves, making smart decisions despite facing a high volume of attempts. While rebound control was not perfect, he consistently made accurate passes to teammates during breakouts.

Comments: Louhivaara had a very strong game. He has the unique combination of size and quickness. His movement was crisp and powerful all game. He showed exceptional balance as he moved around the crease. His upper body was consistently still during his movements. This was especially evident on his post play. His post entries & exits using the RVH were well balanced, smooth and efficient. He also demonstrated high hockey IQ and play reading. He consistently read the play well allowing him to square up to shots early and play the shots on his feet. The early set up resulted in strong rebound control. He had a positive rebound control on 88% of the shots faced. He saved 2 goals above expected based on the quality and volume of shots faced. He provided his team with timely goaltending, delivering saves on quality scoring chances at key points in the game. Lastly he played the puck effectively during the game. He initiated several breakouts by passing the puck to his defensemen allowing for uncontested zone exits.

Comments: Dane had a solid game, keeping his team in it until the 3rd period. He moved well around the crease, moving quickly and with purpose. He had a tendency to keep his weight back at points during the game which negatively impacted his balance. This was noticeable in his post play when utilizing RVH maneuver. He also had a tendency to be off balance when making lengthy lateral pushes, this was noticeable on the 3rd goal. He demonstrated a strong hockey IQ and play reading allowing him to successfully identify scoring threats off rushes and in zone cycles. This contributed to his overall strong angles and depth management. He stopped .75 goals above expected based on the volume and quality of shots faced. He struggled with his rebound control in the first period but is drastically improved as the game went on. He had 75% positive rebound control for the entire game.
