USHL: Waterloo at Dubuque

Game played on 10/05/2024.

Scout: Jason Pawloski

Liam Beerman (G, L, 6’0″, 177, Dubuque Fighting Saints, 09/30/2004, Lindenwood)

Grade: A-

Comments: The Marquette Michigan native Beerman has a solid foundation of fundamentals he relies on. His movement is solid, and he quickly sets his feet on threats. He reads plays well and takes frequent visible shoulder checks. Seeming to struggle a few times tracking elevated pucks to his hands is something to watch. Moving well in and around his posts but he does at times fail to regain his back leg to remain mobile and eliminate the extra movement or reduced power. Controlling rebounds well to his chest and having an active stick aided in deflecting passes and directing pucks. Beerman didn’t shy away from playing the puck and got behind the net to help the Saints move north and get out of the zone. With a solid performance and enough to get the two points for Beerman and the Saints. Grade: A-

Daniel Moor (G, L, 6’2″, 188, Waterloo Black Hawks, 01/17/2006, Princeton)

Grade: A-

Comments: The 2006 born Allendale New Jersey native saw his first appearance in the USHL and made the most of it. He showed some composed and condensed movement to base his game around. Showing some elite skills like dropping into pucks along with centering and setting his feet on threats. Swallowing and controlling rebounds well he tracks them all the way to his body. Making some big saves in this contest moving laterally and remaining calm showed he can read plays very effectively. He takes frequent scans and shoulder checks to ensure a calm game. The first-year goaltenders’ stance did tend to widen at times, but his controlled weight shift makes him able to regain his stance. Showing some high-quality attributes and a good showing here helps Moor and the Blackhawks get a point. Grade: A-
