General Game Notes: Lethbridge @ Brandon, October 25, 2025. This score does not necessarily tell the whole story. The game was even in shots on goal and Lethbridge did have some great chances to score. the difference in this game was goaltending, and Brandon’s execution on their chances and opportunities. The game was broken open in the third with 4 goals for the Wheat Kings to walk to a big win.

Comments: Kraus delivered a calm, technically sharp performance, controlling rebounds well and managing depth effectively. He tracked pucks through traffic, making several difficult saves with traffic, including a sliding shoulder stop on a puck batted out of the air, and a strong left-pad save on the penalty kill from a seam pass. His reads were great on lateral plays, and he stayed square on in-tight chances. He finished the night with a big one-timer save from the hashmarks, showing his maintained focus with seconds left to preserve the shutout. His body language was good, and you could tell by his play that he was dialed in.

Comments: Jacobson showcased strong puck protection, a quick release, and good offensive awareness. He escaped pressure with quick edges and used his frame to fend off defenders on the breakout with his head up the whole way, scanning for outlets. His offensive instincts were evident, finding shooting lanes through traffic and used a high roll play multiple times when one found the back of the net. He scored, rolling high in the zone, finding a lane to the net with a hard shot off the post and in.

Comments: Hadland showed speed and confidence with the puck and used active scanning to read support options on entries. Early in the game, he beat a defender wide with a hip open up and fired a hard, accurate short-side shot from the bottom of the circle for a nice goal to open the scoring. He has good edges, allowing him to beat defenders in tight spaces and open up more options for himself.

Chase Surkan (RW, L, 5’6″, 166, Brandon Wheat Kings, 03/31/2009)

Comments: Surkan played with skill and poise, consistently making quick, accurate passes and showing a quick release on his shot. He had good ozone IQ, assisting on the second goal, making a quick 2-on-1 play for a one-timer. He displayed his IQ and shot again on the power play from just inside the dot, firing one short side for the fifth Wheat Kings goal. His vision and puck movement created multiple high-danger chances.

Joby Baumuller (RW, R, 5’11”, 192, Brandon Wheat Kings, 07/19/2007)

Comments: Baumuller had an excellent two-way game, combining pace, puck skill, and defensive details. On the penalty kill, he was active with his stick and cleared pucks effectively, using his speed to take away lanes on the up-ice pressure. Offensively, he showed his quick, hard shot, net front presence, and forechecking ability. He scored on a backdoor pass on a 2-on-1, a great 3-on-1 play with a give-and-go to the high guy for a quick shot upstairs, and a net-front deflection goal late that hit his torso with good body positioning on the net front defenceman. He was a penalty kill specialist in this game and showed his scoring touch, capping off a great hat-trick performance.

Comments: Klippenstein brought grit and skill, finishing checks and contributing offensively with creative plays. He made a highlight move through his legs to beat a defender and slide a pass around the defenceman backdoor for Baumuller’s first goal. He also showed his defensive reliability and supported well in his own zone with low coverage and strong puck support on breakouts. He finished checks on the forecheck and killed penalties well with good stops and starts and stick positioning, for a complete two-way game.

Comments: Pantelas displayed poise, skating power, and consistent good decision-making. He maintained tight gaps, disrupted zone entries with a strong stick, and regularly transitioned the puck cleanly to his supporting forwards. His puck movement was crisp, repeatedly connecting on D-to-D and outlet passes to initiate controlled breakouts with pace. His composure under pressure allowed his team to exit cleanly. He has good puck control and is a good puck mover for the Wheat Kings.

Comments: Adair played an intelligent defensive game, showing strong scanning habits and poise on retrievals. He made several key shot blocks, including a fearless one-timer block, and used controlled body contact to separate opponents from the puck with support nearby. His decision to take the body over the puck demonstrated good awareness. He displayed strong stick detail by staying patient on a two-on-one, deflecting the puck safely out of play. He has good poise with the puck and made several breakouts look easy.

Comments: Di Domenicantonino showed offensive poise and vision, making calm, accurate breakout passes under pressure, including a cross-ice saucer pass to exit the zone and create an offensive rush. Around the net, he displayed quick hands and composure, collecting a bouncing puck, pulling it around a defender, and creating a quality scoring chance from in tight. He has some skill and IQ with the puck, handling pucks well on walls and creating chances off the rush.

Comments: Wormald competed hard and showed strong puck skills and skating ability. He handled pucks cleanly in stride and made a smart slip pass on a two-on-one for a high-danger chance. His work ethic on the penalty kill stood out, closing space quickly and clearing pucks with purpose. On the power play, he used the wall effectively as a bump option, showing good IQ and awareness in tight spaces. He has strong puck skills, which he showed on the rush, collecting a bouncing puck in his skates while in stride to maintain speed on the rush. He is an offensive driver for the Hurricanes.

Matteo Fabrizi (D, L, 6’6″, 247, Lethbridge Hurricanes, 03/23/2005)

Comments: Fabrizi played with patience and control, showing solid stick positioning and composure with the puck. His breakouts were smooth and efficient using good IQ and situational decision making, highlighted by a smart high-flip clearance when no outlets were available. He added a key shot block in front of the net and consistently made poised plays under pressure. His patience and poise with the puck stood out, showing a clear veteran presence controlling play when he was on the ice.
