The 2004s.
Daniel Hauser (G, L, 5’11”, 165, Wenatchee Wild, 01/29/2004, Wisconsin)
Grade: A-
Comments: If Daniel were three inches taller, there’s a very good chance he would be competing for an NHL starting role down the line. The Wisconsin commit compensates for his size by being extremely aggressive in his positioning, challenging shooters by getting to the top of his crease to take away as much of the net as possible. He consistently tracked the puck, shuffling across his crease to stay square. Daniel kept his chest up while moving laterally and demonstrated exceptional quickness. His glove hand stood out, as he made a number of strong saves to that side. We did note that at times he could overcommit in his positioning, but given the quality of the team in front of him this season, he occasionally needed to be overly aggressive to make saves. The 2x WHL First-Team All-Star should instantly contend for the starting job at Wisconsin.
