Yegor Savikov

Ian Moran’s Thoughts: Savikov is a strong powerfully built left shot defender who went undrafted in 2021. While defending line rushes or ending the cycle he has shown very smooth footwork and the quickness to accelerate through opponents when the bobble a puck. During offensive transition Savikov has the passing skills to one touch a pass into space as well as the quick stick and strength to fire 60′ sauce to hit his target on the tape. We like his ability to walk the offensive blueline with his eyes up so he can change the shooting lane or find a tip. His stride is powerful with an explosive toe snap at the end to generate speed in just a few steps. We feel he is an NHL defender who can play a solid two-way game.
