
The St. Sebastian’s Arrows hosted the Ravens of Portmouth Abbey on a Wednesday early evening game. Senior Patrick McDevitt started the game for the Ravens with senior Kevin Carkner on the opposite end of the ice manning the net for the Arrows. It all started early for St. Sebastian’s with junior Harvard commit Ben Merrill opening the scoring at 11:38 of the frame unassisted. Scoring continued for Sebs as senior Matt Cataldo found the back of the net at 6:19 of the period assisted by Merrill and senior Isaac Mitchell. Senior Aidan Connors made it 3-0 with 2:29 to go, assisted by Merrill and senior Jack Harney. The period ended 3-0 in favor of St. Sebastian’s.
The second period continued with the Arrows carrying the play. Connors scored at 11:16 into the period on a nice feed from sophomore Casey Mutryn, which made it 4-0. Junior Brendan Keveaney tickled the twine for at 6:07 of the stanza with helpers from junior Teddy Mutryn and Connors, making it 5-0. A nice east-west feed by senior Nolan Flynn found Casey Mutryn who made no mistake and buried it to make it 6-0 with 2:23 left in the period.
In the third period, senior Isacc Mitchell won a footrace to a loose puck and scored a nice breakaway goal to make it 7-0 with 9:27 to go. Portsmouth Abbey got on the scoresheet when sophomore Drake Almeida broke up a play at Abbey’s blue line and went low blocker to break the shutout at 3:58 in the third. St. Sebastian’s quickly answered at 2:44 to go when Casey Mutryn fired a seeing-eye-shot making it 8-1, assisted by Harney and senior Nolan Flynn. That would be our final score.
