St. Georges at Middlesex

Concord, MA – 3:30pm Wednesday matchup, the 4th of February, with St. George’s traveling north to face off against an older Middlesex squad.

Sloppy start for both squads, but you can give the edge to Middlesex for striking first with a goal from Hex Packard. Max Donatelli will tie things up 1-1 with slick passing from Cameron Daigle and Joel Thompson. St. George’s scores two quick goals back-to-back, around a minute apart, to gain, not just the lead, but a two-goal lead. First goal from Aiden Ferraira and the second a minute later by Ryan Magaletta. Kota Shinozaki went in on a breakaway from a great pass and was stoned by Alex Wang. Shortly after, Daigle picks up loose change in front to extend St. George’s lead to 4-1.

A shot from the point by Shaan Kessler causes a scramble in front, and it’s Cole Longfield who gets a stick on it first to swipe it home and make this game one-sided. 5-1. Middlesex gets back within three goals with a strong offensive zone presence and a great pass by Luke Sardone to Charlie Brand for the goal.

Off the rush, Brayden Erickson finds a lane down the middle of the ice and rips one bar down to give St. George’s more momentum. Another goal, Kessler dishes it to Daigle in front for goal number seven in favor of St. George’s. The game would go to 8-2 after another goal in tight by Cam Martish, and be our final score. Nonsense throughout the 3rd occurred with multiple scraps and many penalties, ruining the flow of play.
