Texas Regional Scout
Ed Sarno returns for his second year on the Neutral Zone staff in 2024-25. Now a regional scout based in Texas, Sarno grew to love the game while growing up in Walpole, Massachusetts, where he played football, baseball, and street hockey. His grandfather, Bill Kirrane, and great uncle, Jack Kirrane, influenced his love of the game and were accomplished players. Bill was a captain at Boston University, and Jack was the captain of the 1960 U.S. Olympic Gold Medal Team at Squaw Valley. Sarno has held positions as a regional scout with International Scouting Services, the USPHL’s Somang Hockey Academy, and the NCDC’s Utah Outliers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Bridgewater State University and a coaching certificate.
