Minnesota Regional Scout
John Crippa was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, where he played hockey from Mites through High School Varsity, graduating in 2013. He attended the University of North Dakota, where he played intramural hockey for all four years, from 2013 to 2017.
From 2019 to 2021, John served as an Assistant Coach for the U18 AAA San Jose Jr. Sharks. During his tenure, the team won the California State Tournament and the West Regionals, securing a bid to the National Championships, which was unfortunately canceled due to COVID-19 in 2020.
He then became the Assistant Varsity Coach and Head JV Coach for Chaska High School from October 2021 to June 2024, where the team was the runner-up in the Section 2AA final during the 2021-2022 season.
Professionally, John is a Customer Success Manager for a software company, a role he has held for about six years and greatly enjoys. Outside of work and hockey, he spends his free time with his wife and dog, and enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and golfing.
