Paul O’Hagan

Region: Ontario

Director of Ontario Scouting

Memorial Cup Champion & Vancouver Canucks Draft Pick

O’Hagan was the first hire made by Director of Canadian Scouting Marlin Muylaert, as O’Hagan was Muylaert’s captain at the University of Guelph. Paul has had a long and distinguished hockey career, including being an NHL Draft pick by the Vancouver Canucks in 1990 after captaining the Memorial Cup champion Oshawa Generals during the 1989-90 season. He turned down a minor league pro career to pursue his education and played four years at the University of Guelph, where he served as team captain and earned a degree in business.

During the week, Paul is a highly successful executive at BlackBerry in Waterloo, ON, but on the weekends, he’s one of the sharpest and most respected hockey minds in Ontario. In 2019, he was promoted to Director of Scouting for Ontario, taking over his former university coach’s role. He now runs the OHL Draft Rankings and also assists in NHL Draft scouting for the OHL and Ontario region.
