KW Tournament – U18 Division – 2023

Our scouts were in attendance from December 1st-3rd. Report is solely based on play from this tournament. Players are listed under their team names in descending letter grade order.

Barrie Sharks U18AAA

Devon Trapp #8 (Barrie Sharks U18 AA, F, 2024) : Trapp is a hardworking player that competes hard both offensively and defensively. She is creative in the offensive zone through making nice passes and good moves around defenders. She uses her smarts to get to the inner slot areas, which then allow her to shoot through traffic. She is a good backchecker as well, as she made quite a few defensive plays against Hamilton in the tournament. Grade: B+ 

Ryley White #17 (Barrie Sharks U18 AA, F, 2025) : White is a two-way forward that possesses a high hockey IQ and quick stick. She is a strong puck handler, and she can protect the puck effectively, specifically when down low behind the net and in the corners. White can shoot the puck hard off the rush, and most of her chances come on the fly rather than the cycle. She is strong positionally in her own end as well, as she covers opposing players well. Her goal against Hamilton was a reflection of her smarts, as she transitioned from defense to offense quickly, to then pounce on a loose chance to score. Grade: B+ 

Gabby Stewart #46 (Barrie Sharks U18 AA, D, 2024) : Stewart is a quality defender who has offensive potential. She is encouraged to jump into the rush more, as she has a good shot and offensive instincts. She is a strong backward skater who is hard to beat in 1-on-1 situations. There were various times in her game against Hamilton where she broke up opposing team rushes, as she maintains good gap control and is physical when she needs to be.  She put a low hard point shot on the net through a screen for an assist. Grade: B+ 

Allie Homick #10 (Barrie Sharks U18 AA, F, 2026) : Homick is a great penalty killer and smart player, both with and without the puck. She works hard and forces tough decisions for the opposing team, as it often leads to giveaways. She is a good stick handler down low and she uses her defenders well when passing to the point. She then is not afraid to engage physically when battling for net-front positioning ahead of the goalie. Battles well net front to create screens, popping in a rebound off a point shot. Grade: B

Ava Palazzo #24 (Barrie Sharks U18 AA, F, 2025) : Palazzo is a quick player that contains a high compete level.  She battles hard and never gives up on loose pucks. She has a good backhand shot, and can act quickly and capitalize on opposing team mistakes. She makes safe defensive plays, and can be trusted in all 3 zones at any given time of the game. Grade: B 

Sara Cubello #33 (Barrie Sharks U18 AA, G, 2025) : Cubello has a strong glove hand and is quick to cover pucks. She keeps scrums in front at bay and keeps her team in games by lowering rebound chances. Grade: B 

Fraser Valley U18AAA

Nahvin Bal #18 (Fraser Valley Rush, D, 2024) : Bal has a quick snap shot and can shoot through screens. Her ability to protect the puck down low helps her team keep possession of the puck for extended periods of time. She is hard to play against, as she is quick to jump on loose pucks and turn them the other way for her team. She additionally is willing to backcheck and is frequently found in a good defensive position. She broke up various 2 on 1 plays with a quick, active stick check to her opposing players. She is a strong, very quick skater who plays good gaps in both the NZ and the D-zone. She is a strong player in 1v1 battles and rushes. She chooses good times to make rushes with the puck and likes to jump into the play in the O-zone. She can play physical in her own end and is effective in front of the net. Grade: B+ 

Hannah Dods #19 (Fraser Valley Rush, F, 2024) : Dods is a good skater with quick hands in-tight. Her ability to evade pressure and checks down low is notable, and she’s able to use her edge control to her advantage against opposing defenders. Dods is an unselfish player, as she frequently passes on 2-on-1 rushers, utilizing her teammates well. She has good strength and strong edges. She is strong and physical on the forecheck. She is a strong faceoff person. Grade: B+ 

Myra Connor #8 (Fraser Valley Rush, F, 2027) : Connor is an agile skater with offensive upside. She can get to the middle of the ice with ease, and can beat players 1-on-1. Her deceptiveness is evident, but her speed only adds to her offensive assets. She makes smart, high hockey IQ choices without the puck, always staying on the defensive side of the puck when needed. Grade: B 

Katherine Leroux #15 (Fraser Valley Rush, F, 2024) : Leroux is a strong shooter, with good vision in the offensive zone. She is able to compete equally as hard offensively as she does defensively, and her poise with the puck allows her to hold on to possession a split second longer than usual. She is very quick and aggressive on both the forecheck and backcheck. She is strong in the faceoff circle. Grade: B 

Greater Vancouver U18AA

Emma Hikida #7 (Greater Vancouver Comets, D, 2027) : Hikida is calm under pressure and distributes the puck well on the breakout. She makes sure her head is always up and this helps her make the right pass up ice. Grade: B+ 

Cameryn Shiels #8 (Greater Vancouver Comets, F, 2026) : Sheils controls the puck well under pressure, protecting the puck with mohawk turns to maintain control and create pass-out options.  She scored a beauty off the crossbar on a break with a tight checker by shielding the puck and letting off a quick and accurate shot. Grade: B+ 

Alyssa Worsley #10 (Greater Vancouver Comets, D, 2026) : Worsley is a heads-up player who provides great support positioning for her teammates. She makes quick pass transitions on the tape allowing her team to move up the ice effectively. Grade: B+ 

Paige Riley #4 (Greater Vancouver Comets, D, 2025) : Riley effectively uses technique and strength to pin bigger players along the boards. Her strength and tenacity along the boards is also fun to watch and she battles hard for pucks. Grade: B 

Alaniya Johal #5 (Greater Vancouver Comets, F, 2025) : Johal has speed and accuracy in her shooting.  After receiving a neutral zone regroup pass she took the offensive zone and scored on a well placed shot far post to tie the game. Grade: B 

Zoe Wilcox #6 (Greater Vancouver Comets, F, 2026) : Wilcox battles for position net front and keeps her stick available, scoring with a deflection from a point shot. She is okay with going to the middle of the high traffic areas and being the first player to hit home rebounds. Grade: B 

Finley Elliott #17 (Greater Vancouver Comets, F, 2026) : Elliot demonstrated her patience with the puck in tight by giving a pause after receiving a pass from behind the goal line trying to wait out the goaltender.  The tender pulled off a big save. Grade: B 

Chelsea Clark #19 (Greater Vancouver Comets, D, 2025) : Clark puts her body on the line for her team.  Blocking several shots in a tie game. Her defensive game and willingness to do the little things was a coaches dream. Grade: B 

Olivia Tran #35 (Greater Vancouver Comets, G, 2025) : Tran battles to find pucks and reacts quickly to cover.  She clears blocker shots away from danger and holds glove saves. She also sets up pucks for her defenders. Grade: B 

Hamilton Hawks U18AA

Jade McNicol #71 (Hamilton Hawks U18 AA, F, 2025) : McNicol has offensive upside to her game, as she makes solid passes in all 3 zones and it helps her team advance the puck up the ice. While also being a good skater, she is rarely caught out of position, and can skate her way out of traffic. She is not afraid to pass on 2-on-1 rushes, as she utilized her teammates well against Barrie throughout the game. She has quickness and an active stick on the PK, she is strong on the back check. Grade: B

Honeybaked U18AA

Fiona Sierens #91 (Honeybaked U19, F, 2025) : Fiona plays with high energy, with a real good hockey sense. She can handle the puck well and make good choices with the puck. She is willing to go to the hard places on the ice. She is strong on the boards and she can handle a ton of ice time. Grade: B+ 

Alexis Rodriguez #8 (Honeybaked U19, F, 2026) : Alexis is a very quick player who plays hard and with high energy. She is aggressive and effective on the forecheck. She dives lanes in the o-zone to push the d back to create space. She has a hard accurate shot with a quick release. Grade: B 

Audrey Barretto #17 (Honeybaked U19, D, 2026) : Barretto finds the shot lanes from the points and moves well to step in on her point shots. She always has her head up and that helps her find good shot lanes to improve her teams offensive chances. Grade: B 

Kasey Sweitzer #29 (Honeybaked U19, G, 2026) : Sweitzer has quick and smooth movements around the crease.  She gets herself square to shots and holds a crease top challenge. Grade: B 

Kitchener U18AA

Ashley Kraemer #91 (Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 AA, F, 2026) : Ashley is a strong skater with outstanding hockey sense. She handles and carries the puck real well. She has good vision with the puck especially in the o-zone and makes good choices with the puck. She is a strong player on both ends of the rink. She has the ability to handle a lot of ice time. She finds soft spots in the o-zone to be open for passes. Grade: B+

Carly Henry #14 (Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 AA, F, 2025) : Carly is a quick player who brings high energy to her shifts. She handles the puck well and plays with her head on a swivel when she has the puck. Without the puck she moves in and out of open ice in the o-zone. Grade: B 

Olivia Hymers #22 (Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 AA, F, 2025) : Olivia is a strong skater and an all around good player. She is defensively responsible, she supports the D and does not leave her zone too early. She is an effective penalty killer and wins face-offs. She scored a nice PP goal from the back door faceoff circle wrist shot under the crossbar. Grade: B 

Mya Abayof #44 (Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 AA, D, 2026) : Mya is a really strong skater with good hockey sense. She handles the puck real well. She shows good patience with the puck and makes good choices both coming out of her own zone as well as making zone entries. Grade: B 

Pressley Stephenson #55 (Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 AA, F, 2026) : Pressley is a taller player who uses her long reach to keep plays to the outside. She is a physical player who is very good in front of her own net. Her gaps are also strong and has a good shot that she can get on net. Grade: B 

London U18AA

Amelia Bailey #8 (London Devilettes U18 AA, F, 2024) : Bailey is a physically strong player with good skating and puck skills. She showed off her soft hands by walking through 3 players then putting the puck through a screen to score. She later jumped on a loose puck and drove the net, fighting off 2 players to get in tight, then waited for the tender to drop and roofed it for a goal. Grade: A- 

Olivia Caron #4 (London Devilettes U18 AA, D, 2025) : Caron is an agile player who makes strong spatial decisions on the blue line. She made several timely pinches to keep the attack alive and drove the shot lane with hard shots on net. In the defensive zone, she kept the attacker wide on a 1v1 foiling the attack. Grade: B+ 

Ella Neil #5 (London Devilettes U18 AA, F, 2026) : Neil is an agile skater with strong puck skills who plays a heads-up game. She changes speed to create openings and finds passing lanes. When driving the net she is looking for her shooting spot, on this occasion looking low blocker forcing a big save from the tender. Grade: B+ 

Ava Straughan #6 (London Devilettes U18 AA, D, 2024) : Straughan plays a good partner game. Showing the speed to assist her partner when beaten by getting across to the player and keeping her wide. She plays with her heads up, hitting passes on the tape through the neutral zone. Grade: B 

Naren Parker #7 (London Devilettes U18 AA, F, 2025) : Parker looks for her shots, placing a shot through a screen for a good scoring chance. Her ability to find shot lanes is strong and she makes goalies work. Grade: B 

Alex McDonald #15 (London Devilettes U18 AA, F, 2026) : McDonald uses her body and strength well to drive through checks to separate the puck from the player. She battles hard and can win possession of the puck for her team. Grade: B 

Leah Giroux #18 (London Devilettes U18 AA, F, 2026) : Giroux battles net-front to gain strong positioning to receive pass outs. She also will screen goalies and help improve scoring chances for her team. Grade: B 

Sydney Flagel #30 (London Devilettes U18 AA, G, 2026) : Flagel is a solid tender who moves well and gets to the top of the crease to challenge. She has a strong glove and holds any shots that hit her. Grade: B 

Mississauga Hurricanes U18AA

Vivian Bach #55 (Mississauga Hurricanes U18 AA, F, 2026) : Bach exhibits impressive puck-handling skills, maintaining control in high-pressure situations. Her ability to navigate through traffic and beat defenders in one-on-one situations showcases her technical proficiency. She has a great deking ability, and she makes creative plays in and around the goal. She can spin off checks, and maintain puck possession while doing so. Her crossovers are very quick, and it helps her separate herself away from pressure. Grade: A- 

Yenna Robson #71 (Mississauga Hurricanes U18 AA, D, 2024) : Robson exhibits excellent speed and agility on the ice, allowing her to maneuver through opponents effortlessly. Her quick acceleration and smooth stride make her a constant threat in transition, both on breakaways and in creating offensive opportunities. She is a goals-scorer naturally, and she uses her great shot to get them through defenders’ legs and on net. She plays at a high pace, and her line has great chemistry. Grade: A- 

Julia Mcintosh #15 (Mississauga Hurricanes U18 AA, F, 2026) : McIntosh is a hard-working player. She can battle hard down low in the offensive zone, while also making skilled plays all over the ice. Her relentlessness on the puck helps Mississauga play with pace and force turnovers. She can accept passes on her backhand with ease, and get quick backhanders away on net as a result. Grade: B+ 

May Helm #16 (Mississauga Hurricanes U18 AA, F, 2026) : Helm is an offensive player that gets many shots on goal and creates scoring opportunities through her quick foot speed. She is able to find the open players on her team with ease, as she plays with her head up at all times. Though she has such offensive upside, she blocked a couple shots and broke off odd man rushes numerous times, exemplifying her commitment to both sides of the puck. Grade: B+ 

Ashley Minor #47 (Mississauga Hurricanes U18 AA, D, 2026) : Minor is a two-way defender who has great gap control and pinches when necessary to help her team maintain offensive momentum. She skates well backwards, and can pivot quickly from defense to offense. She moves the puck well on the breakouts as well, frequently hitting her forwards with tape-to-tape passes. Grade: B 

NAHA Red 16U

Alara Murphy #18 (NAHA Red 16U, D, 2025) : Murphy is a puck-moving, agile defender. She can move the puck up to her forwards, and even join the offensive rush when needed. She can walk the line, while possessing the unique ability to shoot through traffic and get shots on net from the point. She can maneuver smoothly along the blueline, and her backwards crossovers are efficient. Murphy’s skating and puck-moving skills are her separating factors that will make her successful long-term. She ran a nice reverse with partner to break pressure. She made a very nice rush from center going wide to beat the D and drive the net. Grade: B+ 

Cassidy Lobisser #23 (NAHA Red 16U, F, 2026) : One of her standout attributes is her exceptional puck-handling skills. She showcases soft hands and precise stickhandling, allowing her to control the puck effortlessly in tight spaces. Whether in open ice or along the boards, she displays a wide range of dekes and fakes, making her a constant scoring threat.She is additionally a strong playmaker, getting a great assist against the OHA Prep. She has outstanding vision and makes great easy to handle passes. She scored a sweet goal inside hash marks top shelf stick side vs Kingston. Grade: B+ 

Sasha Marino #48 (Boston Advantage U16, F, 2025) : Marino had a great goal against OHA, showing patience and poise with the puck. She can stickhandle in tight areas, and use her quickness to get away from players. She is able to hang on to the puck for extended periods of time, while waiting until the “right” play is presented in front of her. Her poise is elite, and it’s accommodated by her strong hands. Grade: B+ 

Danica Morden #27 (NAHA Red 16U, F, 2026) : Morden can find the soft areas of the ice to get herself open and shoot. She’s a quick player with a knack for getting shots off from anywhere in the offensive zone. With great skating ability, she’s able to manipulate defenders with her quick crossovers and edgework. Grade: B 

Oakville Hornets U18AA

Molly Armstrong #10 (Oakville Hornets U18 AA, F, 2026) : Armstong can find the open areas of the offensive zone to get hard, quick shots off on net. She can take the puck wide, and beat players with either her smarts or speed. She can be crafty with the puck, frequently seen making nice plays against Fraser Valley. She was able to get to the inside slot area with ease to score a beautiful goal off the rush. Defensively, she can be found in a good position, always ensuring she is covering an opposing player when needed. Grade: B+ 

Vanessa Marques #7 (Oakville Hornets U18 AA, D, 2026) : Marques always ensures strong gaps between herself and oncoming opposing players. She is physical when needed to down low, and can win puck battles due to her high compete level in the defensive zone. She can advance the puck up well to her forwards, as she plays heads-up hockey. Offensively speaking, she is a puck distributor, as she set up many chances for her team against Fraser Valley in the second period. Grade: B 

Jessica Lock #11 (Oakville Hornets U18 AA, D, 2024) : Lock is an offensive defender, who still maintains good positioning in her own end. Her skating ability is noticeable, as she is very smooth with her backwards skating and crossover abilities. She can walk the line well when she’s on the powerplay, and get clean, hard shots off from the point that can either score or be tipped on goal by her teammates. She is willing to skate hard in all 3 areas of the ice, as her compete level is high at all times throughout the game. Her poise with the puck is a key attribute to key game, and she is calm when making decisions. Grade: B 

Olivia Nelson #68 (Oakville Hornets U18 AA, F, 2026) : Nelson is a hardworking forward that can be a relentless forechecker, which makes her difficult to play against. With her quick feet and stick, she can pick off passes and force turnovers. Nelson additionally has the skills to make seeing-eye passes through sticks and traffic, reflecting her high hockey IQ in the offensive zone. Her defensive awareness is evident, as there were multiple occurrences against Fraser Valley where she backchecked hard to trip pucks away. Grade: B 

Miwa Carter #82 (Oakville Hornets U18 AA, D, 2026) : Carter possesses good reach as a defender, and her active stick can break up opposing team offensive plays on a frequent basis. She can skate the puck out of her own zone when needed, while also having the ability to make crisp, tape-to-tape passes to her wingers at the half-wall. She utilizes her defense partner well, relieving pressure off herself by passing it off when needed to. Grade: B- 

OHA Prep U18AA

Charlotte Giguere #71 (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2028) : Giguere is a versatile forward who seems to be used in all situations. She is a well-rounded player who is able to battle hard both offensively and defensively. Through a persistent work-ethic, she can win loose pucks with her tenacious play, along with her high hockey IQ. She is able to create scoring chances off the fly with blazing speed down the walls. Grade: B+ 

Adriana Pepe #92 (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2027) : Pepe is an exceptionally skilled player with a versatile skill set that makes her a force to be reckoned with on the ice. As a quick forward, she consistently demonstrates a high level of hockey IQ, creativity and a commitment to both ends of the rink. Her ability to excel in various game situations sets her apart as a key player for any team. She’s able to get shots off in various different ways, and is able to shoot through traffic with ease. Her offensive abilities are very notable though being on an average offensive team. Grade: B+ 

Meredith Henderson #10 (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2025) : Henderson can shoot quick and with accuracy. While having strong puck control skills, she is able to set herself up in optimal scoring positions and potentially catch goalies off guard. Through being strong on her skates, she is able to maintain possession of the puck while under pressure, which is a key skill to have at her age group. Grade: B 

Petra Polonyi #12 (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2027) : Polonyi is a smart player. She can dart in and out of traffic, and is able to get herself open for her linemates. She had many shots from the inner slot area, displaying her willingness to get to the dirty areas of the ice. She uses her high hockey IQ to create offensive chances for her team. Through quick foot speed, she’s able to collect loose pucks easier than most, and then make a good play following gaining the possession. Grade: B 

Yuan Han #89 (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2026) : Han is a very hard worker who can get to the middle of the ice effectively. She battles for net-front positioning, and can be difficult to handle from the perspective of opposing defenders. She can skate quickly to evade checkers, and she frequently makes smart decisions with and without the puck. Grade: B 

Suri Roberts #96 (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2025) : Roberts is a relentless worker, and a strong penalty killer. She is able to hunt pucks down and force many turnovers. She is able to get her team the puck through forcing opposing errors, while also being an effective defensive player. She is a trustworthy player in all situations, in all areas of the ice. She is also willing to block shots and get into shooting lanes when defending late in the game. Grade: B 

Saugeen Maitland Lightning 

Grace Adriaanse #72 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning MAA, F, 2024) : Adriaanse possesses excellent speed and agility on the ice. Her quick acceleration and smooth stride make her a constant threat in transition. Combine this with her shot, she is able to be an offensive threat each time she steps on the time. She can generate offensive chances through her speed down the rush, or through her snap shot off the fly. Though her team was shutout against Mississauga, she had plenty of chances to score. Grade: A- 

Gillian Dinsmore #2 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning MAA, F/D, 2024) : Dinsmore is very versatile, being a quick skater that can maneuver away from stick checks easily. She has a quick first 3 steps, and can accelerate away from opposing forwards when pressuring is applied. She can play in all situations and can be depended upon to get the puck out of the zone late in the game. Grade: B 

Kamryn Coombs #12 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning MAA, F, 2024) : Coombs is a skilled playmaker. Her vision on the ice allows her to anticipate plays and make precise passes to set up teammates. Coombs displays strong hockey IQ, making smart decisions with the puck and creating offensive opportunities for her linemates. She holds onto the puck in a poise fashion, and passes it to her linematers in optimal shooting positions. Grade: B 

Parker Talbot #61 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning MAA, F, 2026) : Talbot demonstrates a commitment to the defensive side of the game. Her positioning and anticipation allow her to intercept passes and disrupt opposing offensive plays. She actively backchecks and provides support to the defensive unit, showcasing a well-rounded understanding of her responsibilities on the ice. Offensively, she gets many shots off due to her quick release, as she uses her snap shot abilities effortlessly. Grade: B 

Josephine Jarmuth #19 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning MAA, D, 2025) : Jarmuth is highly dependable in her own zone. She displays strong positional play, maintaining a solid gap control against opponents. She is physical down low when necessary and can be hard to beat 1-on-1. Jarmuth can get shots off from the point, and her teammates are able to deflect them on goal easily. Grade: B- 

St. Catharines U18AA

Reese Shigwadja #4 (St. Catharines U18 AA, F, 2025) : Shigwadja sticks with a play and shows consistency. On one play, she drove wide on the rush, taking it past two defenders and cutting to the net, pulling the goalie and tucking the puck around her for a goal which was nice to see. Grade: B 

Regan Flynn #34 (St. Catharines U18 AA, G, 2025) : Flynn gets square to pucks and blocks shots. She has active legs and is quick to kick out pucks on multiple occasions. She also keeps her team in games and is quick to cover pucks. Grade: B- 

Toronto Aeros U18AA

Chloe Martineau #33 (Toronto Aeros U18 AA, F, 2027) : Chloe is very quick, she can beat the D to the outside. She chips pucks past D in NZ to create 2 on 1 chances. She plays with high energy, and covers the D in her own zone. She also makes real nice passes moving the puck up ice. Grade: B 

Sarah Staley #66 (Toronto Aeros U18 AA, F, 2026) : Sarah is a speedy forward who carries the puck with good speed. She will drive down the boards. She has good vision and makes cross ice passes. She uses her speed on the back check as well which helps break up pucks on the attack. Grade: B 

Marissa Gloyns #77 (Toronto Aeros U18 AA, D, 2026) : Marissa has good height and strength, she is physical in front of her net. She is an aggressive player who plays with good gaps in the NZ. Her pinches are strong and effective keeping pressure in the o-zone. Grade: B- 

Washington Pride 16U

Mikayla Kaczor #35 (Washington Pride U16, G, 2028) : Kaczor sets up the puck for defenders on dump-ins.  She tracks the puck well through zone movement and holds a top-of-crease challenge when opponents walk in.  Grade: B+

Fletcher Lyttleton #27 (Washington Pride U16, D, 2025) : Lyttleton is an agile skater who plays both sides. She provides good support positioning for her partner with hinging and coming across as needed. She made good decisions in the Ozone to hold the line and pinch to keep the attack alive. She has a powerful point shot and protects the puck when taking it deep into the zone. Grade: B 

Chloe Crowley #26 (Washington Pride U16, D) : Crowley is a big presence on the net front, battling and boxing players out. She plays with her head up and jumps into the play. She looks and makes adjustments to get passes on the tape and puts solid shots on net. Grade: B-
