Sisters Mika and Riena Jahnke announced that they have committed to RPI; both of the sisters were previously committed to Yale.
Mika Jahnke is a going to join the Engineers in 2021. She’s a forward with the Dallas Stars Elite U19 team.
“Jahnke handles the puck well in all situations; as a smaller player, she is smart with her body positioning, effectively using her size and speed to evade checks and break into open space,” said NZ scouts. “She is competitive and tenacious, regularly getting behind defenders.”
Her older sister, Riena Jahnke, is a forward who will join the program this coming fall.
“A fast and agile forward with the puck,” said scouts. “Shifty in the o-zone, she is hard to defend and generates chances. Has vision.”
Lake Forest picked up three commitments in recent weeks.
First, defenseman Grace Garby was added to the 2020 list. She’s a Michigan native who is currently with Belle Tire’s U19 team.
Lake Forest also added forward Alexis Nguyen, who played this season with Gilmour Academy’s U19 team.
“Nguyen has good hockey sense to go along with her strong work ethic,” our scouts said at this year’s Stoney Creek Showcase. “A good skater, she has a strong shot and will go to the net.”
The Foresters also committed forward Caitlyn Dahut. A native of Arnold, Maryland, Dahut played for the Washington Pride U19 team this season.
“Willing to block shots with decent speed and a long stride,” said NZ scouts. “She is a simple but effective player.”
