As the 2026–27 youth hockey season officially drops the puck with opening-week tournaments across North America, all eyes in New England are turning to the high-stakes 2011 birth-year cohort. Entering their critical 15U campaign, these players are stepping onto the radar for the USHL Phase I Draft, the QMJHL Entry Draft, and USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) evaluators. To keep parents, players, and scouts ahead of the curve, Neutral Zone has assembled an initial watchlist of 22 players across the region. These aren’t finalized rankings, but rather the high-impact names and rising talents that we feel will make noise early, giving you the quick-hit intelligence you need as the season gets underway.
Sam Archibald (D, R, 6’0″, 165, Mount St. Charles U15, 02/02/2011) Athletic right shot defender who is very agile and can manipulate angles
Emmet Aufiero (D, R, 6’1″, 169, Belmont Hill, 01/12/2011) Strong and powerful. Loves to have the puck on his stick as he enters the offensive zone.
Alexander Bobrov (D, L, 5’10”, 152, Belmont Hill, 01/26/2011) Poised and confident. Understands how to trap opposing players below the puck.
Nolan Boyle (C, L, 5’7″, 145, Belmont Hill, 04/16/2011) One of five 2011s who played real minutes in prep school hockey last year. Smart 200′ center with a real backhand.
Brayden Campanale (F, L, 5’10”, 159, St. Sebastian’s, 03/15/2011) A centerman and there are just not enough of them in the World today
Jack Cross (C, R, 5’9″, 152, Mount St. Charles U14, 11/29/2011) He’s a winner who makes his teammates better.
Rhys Del Giacco (D, L, 5’10”, 141, Shattuck St. Mary’s U15, 04/27/2011) Might be the best in the age group at keeping pucks in at the blueline. Elite hand-eye.
Jack Irwin (D, R, 5’11”, 163, Belmont Hill, 01/21/2011) A bull. Long powerful stride and clean edges. He has the lost skill of throwing a hip check.
Jaxson Kilimonis (D, L, 6’0″, 171, Masters Academy 15O, 08/17/2011) In an environment of kids handing out cup cakes, he is handing out cross-checks. Love his mean.
Tyler Kyle (D, R, 6’0″, 151, Masters Academy 15O, 05/17/2011) Long lean right shot defender who oozes upside.
Jackson Liao (F, R, 5’9″, 143, Shattuck St. Mary’s U15, 01/11/2011) Dynamic one-on-one player who loves to score. Herky-jerky and tough to defend.
Peter Lyden (C, L, 5’3″, 120, Brunswick School, 01/25/2011) Currently undersized but has a brain that translates to the highest level. Entertaining as hell to watch.
Robbie McCann (RW, R, 5’9″, 149, Mount St. Charles U15, 06/28/2011) Is on the scoresheet every single game. Goal, helper, charging penalty. You never leave the rink asking if he played.
Drew McElaney (D, L, 5’11”, 160, St. Sebastian’s, 05/04/2011) Long and smooth. Has big time ability.
Mason McGovern (F, R, 5’11”, 170, Winchendon School, 06/03/2011) Smart and deceptive with elite anticipation.
Tyler Newbould (F, R, 5’11”, 165, Cushing Academy, 07/22/2011) Energizer bunny with a heater. At his best with a chip on his shoulder.
Max Prudovsky (C, L, 5’9″, 145, Dexter School, 07/29/2011) Can make an easy argument he is the best forward in the country.
Patrick Taylor (F, L, 5’9″, 150, Seacoast Performance Academy U15, 02/01/2011) White skates and smooth. He can flat out fly.
Brayden Trach (D, L, 5’8″, 139, St. Sebastian’s, 02/07/2011) High IQ defender who can control the pace of the game.
Carter Watson (C, R, 6’0″, 176, Dexter School, 02/28/2011) Elite penalty killer who will do whatever it takes to win.
Christopher Welby (F, R, 6’0″, 180, St. Sebastian’s, 03/14/2011) Over powering in the slot with a quick stick and the soft hands to put it under the bar.
Nolan Wilkinson (C, L, 5’10”, 153, Thayer Academy, 10/25/2011) There is not a more physical player in the age group in New England. Think Ivan Drago from Rocky IV “What he hits, he destroys.”
