AJHL: Brooks Bandits vs Calgary Canucks, April 2021: Brett shows off excellent skating abilities every time we watch him. His stride is quick and he can reach his top speed quickly. His edges are smooth and he can twist and turn away from pressure easily. He sees the ice well and is Calgary’s most dangerous forward in every game. He does well to mix things up by attacking the middle when there is space or driving wide on defenders when they close the gap and pressure him. His passing and shooting are both excellent. He distributes the puck well amongst his linemates and he can snipe from any angle with his sneaky, accurate wrist shot. He is not overly physical but his speed and quick stick allow him to execute effective stick checks to get pucks back in his possession. Grade: A-

AJHL: Okotoks Oilers vs Calgary Canucks, March 2021: Brett played with excellent pace tonight and was very dynamic off the rush. His skating is so smooth and fluent and he gets around the ice effortlessly. We would say he looks even faster now than back in October and November and he can reach his top speed very quickly to close gaps and win races. The ‘03 loved to beat defenders wide on the rush and his vision and speed allowed for a lot of clean zone entries. He is dangerous on any given shift and was the Canuck’s best offensive generator tonight. We like his versatility and the fact he can contribute in the defensive zone at even strength and be a top penalty killer to go along with his offensive abilities. He is a dual threat with strong shooting and passing abilities as well. Grade: A

AJHL: Okotoks Oilers vs Calgary Canucks, November 2020: Did a nice job getting back as the first forward and identifying this, then gets himself lower and helps his defenders break out the puck. He picks his head up and makes decisions quick when leaving his defensive zone. Moves around a lot in the offensive zone and dosent have one go to spot, but instead makes himself a threat from multiple different spots in the offensive zone. Has great control of the puck when it is on his stick. Never lets the puck get too far off his body and uses his weight shift to get himself around defenders. A-
