Edgar Varagyan

Big Russian right-shot winger that plays a strong north south game. He stands 6’2’’ and 202 pounds and played this past season for Stalnye Lisy in the MHL as well as five games for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL. He scored 22 points (12 goals) in 36 games as well as one point in five playoff games. He is a big, strong forward that gets to the net and is skilled in tight. He has a wide base and average stride. He gets around the ice fairly well for a bigger body and skates his lanes well. He attacks defenders directly and hides his release well. Big shot and shoots to corners. He is slick around the net and isn’t afraid to get to the dirty areas of the rink. He likes to battle down low and in the corners. He is a strong net-front presence and takes away the goalies eyes on the power play. He shoots from anywhere on the ice and has the strength to score from the perimeter. He uses his body well to beat defenders to the outside. Once he gets the edge on a defender he uses his reach and size to get to the net.
