Jaroslav Chmelar

Jaroslav is a Czech forward that played this past year in Finland. He stands 6’4’’ and 198 pounds. He played for Jokerit U18 and U20 combining for 13 points in 18 games. He also played nine International games for the Czech, including scoring two points in five games at the U18s. He moves well in a straight line for a big body. He is still raw and learning his agility and footwork but uses his long legs and tight turns to get around the ice. He has a long reach and uses his body well, especially along the boards to protect the puck and maintain possession. He fights through pressure to get to the net. He isn’t afraid to grind and battle in front of the net. He keeps his feet moving to fight through traffic. He has some finesse along the boards to win pucks and chip pucks to teammates. Strong stick and has some touch in his passing. He has a big shot and a quick release which he hides well in-stride. Will need to improve his footwork and side to side mobility but has the physical tools to be successful at the next level.
