Second year playing in this league. First year played in 61 games and scored 2 goals 5 assists with 26 PIMs and was a minus- 10. In this past shortened season, Ethan played in 22 games scoring 1 goal while assisting on 11 and had 10 PIMs but improved his plus minus to + 3. His playing time was way up to 24.5 minutes with PP of 3:27 and also was used on the PK for an average of 2:48.
Ethan has a good hard low accurate shot getting it through for 50% of the time.
Likes to play physical and occasionally goes out of his way to make a big hit. When he takes a hit on the other hand, his balance is suspect and frequently he falls.
Skating is something that seems to be adequate but not his strength. He will need to work hard to gain much needed speed as he tends to compensate by giving up a large gap. In his own end he could try to use his reach and stick check more effectively rather than taking himself out of the play by trying to make the big hit. Speedy players give him fits even if he has a good read on the D side.
He is a long shot to be taken on Draft Day, however he has upside and deserves to be on the NHL radar.
