Game played on 10/11/2024.
Scout: Jason Pawloski
Andrew Reyelts (G, L, 6’2″, 186, Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 03/20/2006, Lindenwood)
Grade: B+
Comments: Stopping 34 of 39 the 2006 born Reyelts made some big saves early but didn’t quite settle into this game. At 6’1′ he plays deep in his crease and couldn’t set his feet on threats from his mostly relaxed stance. Larger cross crease movements he loses power and shifts his weight up and out of his backside push leg. Struggling with pucks outside of his body and elevated to his hands in this one as well as cross crease movements. Rebounds to the center line of his body while condensed were controlled with ease but struggling to control pucks to the outside. Taking some scans to read plays aided his movement but they are not very frequent. A tough loss on the road for Reyelts and the RoughRiders. Grade: B+
Damian Slavik (G, R, 6’4″, 185, Fargo Force, 06/09/2005)
Grade: A-
Comments: The Slovakian native plays a calm game in his crease and sets his feet well on threats. Holding a good depth adds to his larger frame at 6’4′. His movement has a good fundamental foundation but lacks power on larger movements and precision. He uses scans of the ice to help read plays and aid him movement. Maintaining his feet as much as possible ensures mobility, covering and sealing the ice well when pucks are low and comfortable in his posts. His backside leg recovery in his posts tends to fall behind and lose power. A very good first save goaltender buck second chance opportunities saw him scrambling or ending up on his backside immobile. Not controlling rebounds and directing them to safe areas but keeping all pucks in front of him. Using a stance differential allowed him to see above and around screens to track pucks. Maintaining eye contact and taking scans of the ice to read plays and stay ahead of them. A solid performance and two points for Slavik in one of his few games this month. Grade: A-
